Looks are deceiving 👁
What might look like a nomadic tiny Canadian girl teaching yoga & galavanting around the world...
is actually an entrepreneur
WORKING HER ASS OFF.
The hustle these last few months has been real, to transform so many exciting ideas into real life opportunities! Often I’m up early & working late at night, planing retreats, sorting logistics for trainings, answering emails from clients, filming & editing videos, prepping mala supplies, building websites, writing newsletters... I’ll stop boring you with the behind the scenes. But it’s not all sunsets, casual yoga poses in unrealistic destinations & puppies. Actually, puppies are key.
But truth is I wouldn’t have it any other way. I LOVE being my own boss & accept the freedom + the hard work & responsibility that comes with it. I put my heart & soul into my work, so I’ve become much more selective about who gets to commodify my energy. I love collaborating but need to create my own path & direct my own work.
When I teach the business of yoga lecture in yoga teacher trainings, I alway communicate that being a yoga teacher can also feel like being your own manager, administrator, marketer & accountant. It’s a lot. But it’s also seriously rewarding.
I love all these roles, but I can tell that when my sleep, eating, yoga practice & quality time with friends & family is suffering (which it has been lately)... something is off. I’m not practicing what I preach. I need to slow down. While we share the critical message of self-care, I know SO many yoga teachers that are struggling to really embody it.
So I’m giving myself more time & space this week to chill the f#%k out (item #1
on this week’s list of to-do’s). But I’ll also do a bit of the work that fills my heart, cause it gives me energy too.
If you’re a yoga teacher wanting to develop your teaching, work of any of these roles, or work on tools for self-care, feel welcome to connect with me about my yoga teacher mentorship program. Send me a message. I may not reply instantly, as I may be cuddling puppies or chilling out, but I’ll get back to you soon 🙏💗
