A mystery box arrived this afternoon. I was confused to find a book that got released just today. Funny, because I saw it online this morning and thought "hmm. I should order that." I read Extreme Ownership twice while I was with Ywam Ships and it completely rewired my brain. So excited to see what I can absorb from this one. @jessicalynnlayne sure knows how to take care of me. #dichotomyofleadership
DISCIPLINE=FREEDOM. The last couple of years had been really difficult for me, my diabetes was in control of my life, college was in control of my life and I was doing just enough to get by. I had no drive. No motivation. A couple of months ago I was lucky enough to hear about @jockowillink and his podcast from a friend and decided to give it a listen. I was hooked. This week has been a good grind. A whole week of hard training in the Mornings. But today, once everyone was gone, Alex and I went for one more round followed by several minutes of discussion and drills. This beast has 100lbs on me. I may have the speed but he has the strength. The last place you want to be is under him. He'll throw you around like a rag doll. And yet he has the humility to come to the gym and risk getting tapped by a guy half his size. Why? Because he knows it doesn't matter how many times you tap. It's the gym, you don't lose. You either win or learn. By the way, This beast is one of the few brave RCMP officers who patrol the streets of our city every day. Putting in the grind To improve his skills and ability to protect us, day after day. I had a good day and was able to PR my deadlift on Wednesday. Life has been crazy for me lately and I have been juggling many things, it all caught up to me and burned me out. I decided to take a day off from the gym and get some much needed rest and take care of an awful headache I had on Tuesday. I woke up Wednesday feeling rested and good. I listened to a jocko podcast, drank some bang had a great day at work, put on some edm and with my bro @cruz24 motivating me I pulled 255#. I didnt even intend to hit that but I just was feeling great. Sometimes we need to rest and take some time for ourselves. I'm so happy my bros push me to better myself. I also have a wonderful boyfriend who encourages me and believes in me. My parents also help me out a ton by allowing me to take time for myself while they watch Ezra.
