Trivia - Taxi Driver (1976)
1) Martin Scorsese has said he offered the role of Travis Bickle to Dustin Hoffman. According to Hoffman, he turned the role down because he "thought he (Scorsese) was crazy!" He has since regretted his decision.
2) Robert De Niro worked fifteen hour days for a month driving cabs as preparation for this role. He also studied mental illness, and - during his off-time when filming 1900 (1976) - visited a US Army base in Northern Italy and tape-recorded conversations with Midwestern soldiers so that he could pick up their accent.
3) Jodie Foster was twelve years old when the movie was filmed, so she could not do the more explicit scenes (her character was also twelve years old). Connie Foster, Jodie's older sister, who was nineteen when the film was produced, was cast as her body double for those scenes.

Taxi Driver (1976)
Director: Martin Scorsese
This is one of those productions where everything contributes on a stellar level. The script, direction, acting, cinematography (Mike Chapman), music (Bernard Herrmann's "Swan Song"), and overall production merged into a cultural phenom and the rest is cinematic history. It is a sordid, uncomfortable ride through a hazy New York city bathed in muted colors smeared to resemble a drug induced vision. Travis Bickle's mental instability combines for some awkward dialog and narration, that contributes to the tone and unsettling vision, as Travis struggles against what he sees as total corruption and filth. A monumental performance and vision that is aesthetic, symbolic and emphatic.
Judy doesn’t need this disrespect.
Saw "Hillary and Clinton" starring my favorite, Laurie Metcalf, with @mathewjls
