Big moment: today I did my first downward dog in over 13 weeks! 🤩Kind of a win after having had surgery to repair a broken wrist this past spring. My daily practices and go-to routines were hijacked for a few months while I've been healing and regaining strength. Yep, I’ve been missing out. And, yes, I'm definitely excited to spend more time on the mat, get back on my bike, be able to unscrew a lid, etc…
But, missing out, a bit to my surprise, has actually been awesome. A relief, really. It has been SO nice to just let go of some stuff for a while. To just accept that nope, can't do that - it isn't in my wheel house right now, and allow myself that liberty. That ease.
I decided that in order to tune in a bit more to what my body was communicating and what I was needing to heal (lots of levels this happens on 🙏🏻) it might be helpful to tune out some of the peripheral noise. And, so I've also spent the last few months dialing down social media. Did I miss a lot of posts and activity in my newsfeed? Yep. Has that negatively impacted my life? Not really. I really love seeing what my friends are up to and enjoying a virtual connection. But, taking a break I’ve felt lighter, less weighed down. And my head space has been more settled. Just sayin’. Maybe this is something that you have found to be true for you, too, from time to time?
It’s good to mix up our moves now and then, right?Shake things up a little, make a new choice, ‘tune out so we can tune in’, ‘say no to make room for the yes,’ and all that. Pretty sure it can all happen minus the injury, too! 😉 #keeponkeepinon #thisshitisholy
