~ Dr. Jordan B. Peterson

Met Jordan Peterson last night. Very unexpected event! Did not go how I thought it'd go.
The audience was 2000 people, and probably less than 5% were young guys, which I figured it'd entirely be.
The other 95% was people in their 30s and 40s and 50s, half women and half men, and probably half white people and half weren't (which in fairness is probably a reasonable sample of NZ population anyway). The talk wasn't even slightly political, and when asked about politics he shyed away from it and back to his area of expertise, which is therapy and self improvement. When someone brought up the plight of young people, especially young women, he broke down twice into tears. Of the 200 or so VIPs, I waited behind droves of women all eager to go get their free hug from him. When I finally did have a chat, I was genuinely taken aback by how personally invested in me he was. There was no air of arrogance or celebrity.
There were no white nationalists, racists or sexists. Everyone I interacted with were Asian, Maori, young, old, white, women, men, gay, straight and everything in between. The thing everyone had in common that I could see was that they had been in a very dark place in their lives and Jordans work had helped them take care of themselves.
It is a shame that such a large group of his online viewers are dicks who use him as a tool to further themselves, but the same can be said about anyone. There was no hate, only love at this event.

I had the pleasure of meeting @jordan.b.peterson
at his Auckland show and I've got to say, he was awesome!
To stand on that stage in front of a packed kiwi crowd talking about taking on responsibility and the beauty that comes with being a parent was truly epic.
At the end of his talk, a small group of us got to ask a question and I asked Jordan, what is a moment that blew his mind, a moment that changed him forever?
His answer, after pondering for a second was to share a personal moment of when his daughter was 16 months old and on a family trip to the beach just sat there in the sun saying "good, good, good, good, good, good."
Jordan said that the reason it blew his mind was that every now and then kids show what perfection can be and for him, just that second, everything was perfect.
I plan to record a podcast about my experience meeting Jordan Peterson and also play the audio of him answering my question.
Meeting Dr Jordan B Peterson was a mind-blowing moment for me and regardless on your thoughts on him and the thoughts he shares, I'd highly recommend trying seeing him live and in person, it's worth it.

The problem with the personal development community, for a while, has been the lack of intellectuals, scientists, and persons of academic credibility writing books and giving advice. Dr Jordan B Peterson is a welcome change to the community as he provides an insight and approach towards life which is purely based on scientific psychological research and empirical evidence. Standing ovation well deserved. Y’all finna find out. @jordan.b.peterson #jordanpeterson #12rulesforlife #lobsters
It was incredible to meet @jordan.b.peterson
, his talk was extremely articulate and meaningful. He discussed the immense importance of speaking the truth, the sovereignty of the individual and that gratitude for the beauty of life can get us though all suffering. This is just the surface of it. You can see in the photo I was amazed by his genuine interest in all of us that he met. Thanks for the talk! #12rulesforlife #jordanbpeterson #jordanpeterson
(I am shook)
I always take time to give gratitude to the Universe for taking me to where I am in each moment and for all of the things that led there. Some things were amazing, others not so amazing, and some even went without notice. But lately, I have been shouting emphatically my THANK YOU UNIVERSE - sometimes even jumping up and down. I cannot get over what great Joy it just brought into my life. My soul is singing and my heart is beating again - still a little terrified, but surrendering to whatever the Universe has to give me. .
Waiting, mistakes, broken hearts, poor decisions, failed marriages, struggle, alcohol, grief...and then slowly, as I began to discover Joy again, beautiful and amazing things began to happen. When my vibration heightened and took my frequency to a place I didn’t know existed, the negative and the “bad” things began to fade away. Wonderful things started showing up; my life changed COMPLETELY. And yes, it’s a continuing journey - maybe encountering some dragons along the way 🐉, but slaying them all and finding happiness I could never have imagined.
And so I will keep jumping up and down and dancing on my toes, smiling, surrendering, being open to whatever comes, and quietly meditating and also shouting at the top of my lungs, THANK YOU, UNIVERSE! #comeomwithme #thomasrhett #itgoeslikethis #trusttheuniverse #raisevibration #soberishellasexy #rightwhereyouneedtobe #choosejoy #jordanbpeterson #likeattractslike #thankyouuniverse

It's been about 12 months since I first spoke to @jordan.b.peterson
about my research. I had just spent about a year of hard work on my PhD after floundering for several years previous. I had experienced maybe two breakdowns and the death of a very close family member. I had also just done his Future Authoring.
When I spoke to him in Feb of 2018 I had planned to have finished but I was far from it. 2018 hit me hard. I had several major health issues come to light at once. Though my family made things financially possible they made it next to impossible for me to sleep or study. I developed hyperacusis.
Even so, I handed in my PhD in October (Halloween) after many very long nights, and many during which I didn't sleep. In January it was passed without revisions, subject only to typo fixes. I aced Viva Voce process, exceeding expectations in most categories. Shortly afterwards, I now own my first property and was offered a job by a CEO who is interested in my research.
I'm almost certain I would have given up if not for Peterson's words. It was great to have met him in person.

I've been reading 12 Rules for Life - An Antidote to Chaos by Jordan B. Peterson.
Rule 10 is Be precise in your speech.
I found this chapter really insightful. Often in relationships, people do not say what they want or need. And this may be because they either don't know what they want or need, or have trouble articulating exactly what they want and need, or lack the courage to speak up. Because of this, people bottle things up inside and then it all comes out in an explosion - and this is often way too much to address in one conversation as there are so many situations, incidents, thoughts and feelings that are brought up. It is better to address each thing as it comes up, that way you don't let things build up inside of you until it reaches the surface and there is only one way out.
This particular paragraph in the book really holds true and I have seen it happen in so many people, myself included. If we don't address one thing, if we don't talk about one topic when it is difficult, then it becomes about everything....and then everything is too much. As Jordan B. Peterson states: 'This is so frequently why couples cease communicating. Every argument degenerates into every problem that ever emerged in the past, every problem that exists now, and every terrible thing that is likely to happen in the future. No one can have a discussion about "everything"'.
Having the courage to bring things up when they happen if they bother you or if you are not happy makes for a healthy and strong relationship - where you can speak your mind and not get attacked for it. For being able to discuss things openly and honestly, for saying your thoughts, what you desire, want and need. If you keep this all bottled up inside, you just make yourself unhappy. You are not being true and honest and open with yourself. Take the time to do this calmly with those you love, when the issues arise. Don't wait til it becomes too much that it all blows up and is too big to deal with. Isn't it easier to deal with a small problem rather than a hundred different problems all at once?
😂😂 Fabuloso to know that I’m not New Age Bullshit nice, in the least.💪👋💃🏻⚔️
One day last spring, I was overwhelmed by the onslaught of recent deaths of quite a number of outstanding people and four-leggeds who meant the world to me. 😢 In my search for a worthy distraction, ie. to be educated AND entertained, I came upon some videos from one of my favourites—Jordan B. Peterson—probably one of the most bizarrely hated men on the Planet—next to Donald J. Trump in this Perception-Managed Reality shitshow. 🤦🏻♀️😂👻 ✨⚡️💥
Always endeavouring to learn more about MySelf, I was intrigued by Dr. Peterson’s collaborative offerings on www.UnderstandMyself.com ✨⚡️
I slapped down a mere $9.99 to make you holla fee and spent less than 15 minutes responding to 100 queries—the results of which I share in this post.
No surprise It’s my compassion that waylays me every time with folks, however, it was an awesome affirmation that my industrious ass and fearlessness aKa openness to experience—have set me up for the pretty rocking life I’ve lived thus far.🔥💯
In my nearly 60 years of incarnation —lived unconventionally—and on MY TERMS—off my own creations and talents—or not at all. I am appreciating my life in a much different way. So appreciating my off-beat, entrepreneurial ways, my rock solid willing-to-Stand-on-my-own-alone, my ability to sacrifice instant gratification for the something greater than my immediate personalised wants and needs, my nuclear energy and vitality—and especially my ability to tell people to FUCK OFF and GHOST (without Apology) ludicrous blood sucking bat situations, cleverly engineered by women and men, masterfully using their sad poor me stories as bait to my giant tender heart 💜 ✨

In this clip, Dr. Jordan Peterson talks about how to stop bullying before it escalates full scale. This is personal, but in middle school I was bullied relentlessly. I was skinny, clumsy, and most notably a people pleaser. I always thought being a people pleaser would get people to accept me, but the total opposite happened. My first year in high school, I changed - for the better. I treated myself like someone worth helping. I knew I was a little different from others, not cognitively, but in my way of thinking. Anyways, you can say I integrated my shadow at a relatively young age. Oh and I never got bullied in high school 👨🎓If you read this till the end, God bless you 😊
Motivation Monday: When it comes to body image, these are the only shapes that you should be worried about.
To me, Body Positivity is about appreciating your body where it is at - and not punishing it because it doesn't look or feel the way you want it to. Every BODY is different! We all come in our on shape and size, and we are all on our own health journey. As our bodies work to support us each day, we are faced with various challenges. Loving our bodies where we are at is a great thing to do! We need to honor the work we've put in to our health and keep striving after our health goals. .
To me, Body Positivity is NOT about giving yourself permission to be excessively over weight (or excessively under weight!), engaging in habits that sabotage your health, or supporting an unhealthy lifestyle. To me, it is ALL about making strides in your journey, and supporting yourself healthfully where you are at! ☺️🥰 .
To me, Body Positivity is about living the life you want to live and feeling comfortable and capable in your own skin. If you are not reaching your health goals, if you are not able to do the things you want to do, then I encourage you to take charge of YOUR story and make it happen! We don't achieve our goals over night, and sometimes progress is sloooooooooooow. But! The important part of progress is that you are still moving forward - and THAT is what counts! And, I can say with certainty that if you keep taking steps forward, you WILL get there! .
You are the hero of your own story. STOP comparing yourself to others and START comparing yourself to who you were yesterday! (Thank you, @Jbpeterson #12RulesForLifeBook
) Pick up some weight. Move your body. (btw, carrying the laundry basket up and down the stairs totally counts!) Nourish yourself. Hydrate. Get up, train hard (whatever that looks like for you!), eat nutrient-rich foods, fuel your brain and your body, practice patience with yourself and others, and slay your dragons. You've got this!

What does everyone in the modern world need to know? Renowned psychologist Jordan B. Peterson's answer to this most difficult of questions uniquely combines the hard-won truths of ancient tradition with the stunning revelations of cutting-edge scientific research. Humorous, surprising and informative, Dr. Peterson tells us why skateboarding boys and girls must be left alone, what terrible fate awaits those who criticize too easily, and why you should always pet a cat when you meet one on the street.
What does the nervous system of the lowly lobster have to tell us about standing up straight (with our shoulders back) and about success in life?
Why did ancient Egyptians worship the capacity to pay careful attention as the highest of gods?
What dreadful paths do people tread when they become resentful, arrogant and vengeful?
Dr. Peterson journeys broadly, discussing discipline, freedom, adventure and responsibility, distilling the world's wisdom into 12 practical and profound rules for life.
12 Rules for Life shatters the modern commonplaces of science, faith and human nature, while transforming and ennobling the mind and spirit of its readers.

I just completed Day 1 of my “12 Days - 12 Rules“ challenge, where I read a chapter of Jordan B. Peterson‘s book “12 Rules for Life“ and share the most important content of each chapter with you! 👊
Rule 1 is “Stand up straight with your shoulders back“.
In this chapter, Peterson describes how humans and many other species, including lobsters 🦞, form dominance hierarchies. More dominant individuals who rank higher typically have access to much more and/or better ressources in life, live longer and healthier as well as find a desirable mate. In our brain, our serotonin levels can indicate our confidence and social status! 🧠 According to Peterson, if you want to live a happy and fulfilling life, your goal should be to create POSITIVE FEEDBACK LOOPS to create an upward spiraling effect, boosting you up in the hierarchies and giving you access to a desirable life 👏🏆 When you stand up straight, when you have good, confident body language, you signal other people around you AS WELL AS YOURSELF that you are confident, able and of high social status. This, combined with taking complete RESPONSIBILITY for your life and all challenges within enables you to attract good things in your life! 🐲
I definitely encourage you to read this book, it‘s fantastic so far and full of interesting stories that make you think about life. Great inspiration! 💡
See you tomorrow for Rule 2 ✌️

Every now and then, I put aside my usual readings, to concentrate on something different that makes me think about life and the way I am living it. We only get one shot at this so we should be living at our best possibilities. These 12 rules question us on so many levels, and and are put in a rather inteligent and accessible way. This isn't self help reading, it's more "a question yourself about the things you keep on automatic pilot and cruise control reading". Loved it.

An evening learning from and discussing some of the most complex issues facing us in life; Dr Jordan B Peterson. I respect him for the sheer volume of work and dedication the has done. I think the reason he is so contentious and ruffles many peoples feathers is simply because they don’t actually listen with open minds and come into his content with a fixed concept of what he is about (projection is perception). Check out his YT class lectures from his university MIND 💥💥. #jordanpeterson #jordanbpeterson #12rulesforlife #mapsofmeaning #vaughanliddicoat #lifequotes #successmindset
Dag 1! 05:00 ging de wekker.
Ik ben de dag begonnen met twee glazen water. Van alle rust om mij heen heb ik gebruik gemaakt om te mediteren. Heerlijk!
Heerlijk begin! Laat de dag maar komen!

if you’re a man who seeks wisdom relevant to men.
Maui is treating me very good so far. I love this land. It’s something special about it. My inner conversations, my dreams, my practice - everything opened up in different angle, with different colors.
Grateful. Full of Love and Devotion ✨❤️✨
To stand up straight with your shoulders back is to accept the terrible responsibility of life, with eyes wide open. It means deciding to voluntarily transform the chaos of potential into the realities of habitable order. It means adopting the burden of self-conscious vulnerability, and accepting the end of the unconscious paradise of childhood, where finitude and mortality are only dimly comprehended. It means willingly undertaking the sacrifices necessary to generate a productive and meaningful reality (it means acting to please God, in the ancient language).
You make sacrifices in the present so the future is better. That’s the trick! Watch the full value of this clip on my YouTube - Link in bio.

This evening I took myself on a solo date to see @jordan.b.peterson
He is a Clinical Psychologist and writer with a series of online lectures and a book currently on the best sellers list called, ‘12 Rules for life’, which have all recently gone viral. The majority of the audience there tonight were young men, I suppose because hes become a voice for young men manoeuvreing their way through life’s hurdles. Either way, I was content to be there amongst them listening to what he had to say. His lecture was thought provoking and in some ways controversial. Yet, I appreciate him for his conviction, knowledge and mostly his ability to create open dialogue on difficult issues. I have always enjoyed learning about our emotions and the mind and I also find the differences in human personalities fascinating. This evening he was able to summarise how our differences can effect and determine our actions through life and how this also directly effects the outcome of our lives. He highlighted the importance of finding meaning in life by always having a goal or aim to drive one forward and pushed the perspective that we should reach for the stars; always aiming high. 🌟 Overall it was both provocative and insightful. 😊 #12rulesforlife #jordanbpeterson
