Vacation is amazing especially when you get to explore and see the world . . It’s not always easy staying on track with nutrition on vacation. Everyone’s body is different on how they react to certain foods and diets as well what their goals are . . I personally enjoy eating healthy 90 percent of the time just because of how good my body feels, but flexible dieting is what I typically recommend most for individuals. This still allows for you to eat a lot of the things you want to eat while still making sure at the end of the day your still hitting your total caloric intake/ macros for your goals . . I didn’t eat the healthiest on vacation, but I knew that when I came back I was going to continue to get back on track and continue to be consistent. That’s the most important thing about getting off track is getting back on track and staying consistent. Don’t let yourself get off track and continue to push it off and keep waiting to start again . . As for working out outside of hiking, running, jumping and walking on the trip I didn’t always have a hotel to workout in so I had to utilize bands and body weight exercises. So let’s say that you’d like to lose a bit of weight and you are aiming for a certain caloric target. You get all set on Sunday night and you eat super well and stay at your 1800 calorie target Monday- Thursday... then the weekend happens and you go overboard. But you were so good all week that you must have lost weight right? Wrong- if your average daily calorie intake is higher than your target, you’ll probably stay about the same weight. If it’s higher than you want you burn you’ll gain weight . . This doesn’t mean that you can’t have wine or some pizza, but it means you should try to factor those extra calories in and plan on eating less earlier in the day. And don’t let one binge lead to another and then just say you’ll restart Monday! Start again the next meal . . Remember that perfection isn’t the goal. It’s to be relatively good consistently. I get asked all the time. “What should I eat after my workout?” So here are a few ideas for if you have time to prepare or if you are in a rush . The trend is to get in your protein and carbs. This is a great time to replenish your energy levels as your body can absorb food very well after a workout . The amount you eat will depend on what your goals are! Keep in mind that you may feel hungrier than you actually are so make sure you remember that if you are trying to lose weight . I’d also like to mention that there is no RUSH to get your food in after your workout. Your gain will not be lost if you wait over 30 minutes. Happy Monday guys! I wanted to post a video for you all to show you that it doesn’t matter where you are at or what equipment you have available to you that you can still get a great workout in! There is a lot of other exercises I could of done to show you as well, but I did my best to give you a good overall workout so maybe next time you are at the park you can do this workout too! This workout includes: 1. Pull-ups 2. Push-ups 3. Dips 4. Chest flys 5. Shoulder press 6. Front and side shoulder raises 7. Rear delt face pull 8. Tricep dip 9. Tricep standing extension 10. Bicep curl 11. Box jumps 12. Burpees/ squat thrusts 13. Squats with bands 14. Leg raises Go through this workout 2-3 times with your repetitions being as many as you can per exercise!
