Since there are a bunch of new followers on the site 😊, and the Hanukkah rush is over, I thought it would be a good time to introduce myself and tell you a bit about Peace Love Light ❤️❤️❤️. I'm Lisa, the founder and owner. I launched www.peacelovelightshop.com in Sept 2017 after years of searching for stylish, contemporary Hanukkah decorations but found the choices quite limited 😕. In a short time we have expanded into a full lifestyle brand, including gift, holiday, home, jewelry and wedding collections🎁💍. The goal is to be a source for products that are unique, beautiful and relevant in today's society while also honoring centuries old Jewish traditions.
Our product is all handcrafted by artists who take pride in their craft, none of it is mass produced... so you are not only supporting our small business but many others as well! For now we ship only to the U. S., but hoping to change that in the future.
We are excited to be working on 2019 and have many ideas on how we can grow the assortment. Would love to know from you, if there is an item, category or supplier you would like us to carry please comment or send a pm. Thank you and enjoy the rest of the holiday season!!! P. S. The Oy Vey pillow will be back in stock soon. Sold out of our inventory for Hanukkah but we are printing more 😍

Jewish Life in South America by J. X. (Jacob Xenab) Cohen. (Anyone know where the name Xenab comes from? Maybe from Yiddish Zanvil?) Published in New York by Bloch Publishing Company in 1941. The author was an engineer turned reform Rabbi. He died in 1955. Here are some interesting exerps from his introduction to this book. "But the Jews in the North..... know but little of our South American Jewish neighbors. Little has been written..... Hence it was gratifying when an invitation came to the writer, as a member of the committee on cultural relations with Latin America, to visit South America as one of a group of ...professors, clergymen.... and serve as the "authority" on Jewish matters...... After the usual flashlight press pictures had been shot of the group, the Jewish welcoming committee started their search for the Rabbi. They frequently reported great difficulty because they sought a bearded gentleman - and were non-plussed their waited gust clean-shaven. After the lack of beard was quickly explained, using what I came to call Pan Americaner Yiddish.... This Pan Americaner Yiddish is a catch-as-catch-can compound of a little English, a little Spanish and a heap of Yiddish." #jewishhistory #jewishbooks #judaica #jewish #bookcolection #bookstagram #books #jxcohen #southamerica #latinamerica #stephenwise #blochpublishers #yiddish #history #1940

Title: basket of pomegranates with grey arch.
90 x 90cm
Acrylic on Canvas.
At Emilio’s art studio / Museum of Art & Environment
pomegranates is one of Emilio's favourite themes, which can be seen in all of his art, across all mediums.
Pomegranate is a native fruit in Israel and an ancient symbol steeped in the Jewish tradition and the bible.
Pomegranate was one of Emilio's delights in his many countryside trips, if it was by a self-renovated 40's old motorcycle or a French Citroën Dyane.
Along with other native fruits like the Carob and the fig, the Pomegranates was nutritious in cultural and folklore as well as a food.
Pomegranates are in abundance during the time of the Fall feasts in Israel; a symbol of Rosh HaShana (Jewish New Year) and the holiday season.

Reb Hersh Leib Lipel A Breslev chasid living in Ukraine during the communist era was scared to sing Zemiros loud on Shabbos in his house out of fear of the KGB, so he walked on the ice frigid streets of Ukraine pretending to be drunk and sang on top of his lungs the Zemiros of Shabbos!
May we all merit to be so drunk with shabbos until we literally run out to the streets and sing Shabbos songs. Shabbat shalom!
