FAVOR = CURRENCY
Literally the story of my life. And it’s been in overdrive within the past two months.
#thankfultweet to Yahveh for loving me through the generosity of people who believe in me and just wanted to bless me on GP.
The monument to Texas African Americans at the State Capitol made me emotional. The detail on the faces of the recently freed slaves depicted in the structure were so real.
The fact that Texan slaves found out 2 years later than everyone else in the US that they were free I'm sure added to their exhaustion and frustration. That fact frustrates me in present day. How many within that 2 years were born and died while still enslaved? How many could have benefitted from those 2 years of freedom? How many suffered mentally and physically from 2 more years of enslavement?
Let us Texans of African descent not lament on those 2 years lost, but celebrate the lives of those that made it possible for us to see this day.
