Here’s a quick tip to help you get more out of your lifting session...
Focus on really squeezing the working muscles throughout each rep🔥 this increases mind-muscle connection, leading to more muscle and strength gains over time 🙌🏽 (this trick works for body weight exercises too and will instantly intensify the workout for better results!)
Ready to build a bullet proof back? Do this:
🔥Landmine rows (10 reps)
🔥Machine lat pull downs (12 reps)
🔥Single arm overhead cable row (12 reps per side)
🔥Overhead cable row (10 reps)
🔥Kettlebell hip hinge to back row (12 reps)
🔥Endless rope - 1 min finisher 💀

When I look back at this video I see a room filled with strength💪🏻, commitment, passion❤️, drive, knowledge🧠, focus, community🤝 and friendship (even with “Thriller” playing in the background 😂). Always such a pleasure to teach the Tuesday Advanced class💛.
So while i haven't been too active at the gym these last eight months, one thing i have been keeping up with is dancing. I LOVE dancing...its so freeing and an easy way to get some cardio in without even knowing it.
These gorgeous queens and I have been getting together once a week for 2 hours for practice. Our performance was this past Saturday at my babyshower. We had a blast 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾. I'm glad to have been able to find a way to keep physically active somehow with all the other changes going on around me.
ps- registered for my FINAL two nursing classes today....can i get a woot woot!!!! Almost there...

Positivity to me doesn’t mean you have to be happy all the time.
That’s not realistic, shit happens and if you believe that’s what you’re supposed to do then when something inevitably comes along that makes you feel bad or sad you’ll make yourself feel worse believing you’re wrong for feeling that way.
Positivity to me is about allowing yourself to accept things for what they are but remembering that when it’s tough there’s always light around the corner, the key is to just keep moving forward, run towards it when you can....sunshine always follows any rain 💫

One of my #newyearsresolutions
this year is to tone up and finally get the 6-pack abs I’ve always wanted. While I have high hopes to check that off my list this year, I am more proud of the strides I’ve taken into being a person deserving of that body type.
To give myself a push I did something I’ve never done before. My brother and I signed up for a #spartanrace
in mid-April. It was super windy and cold that day and by the end of the race it started raining so everything got 10x harder to complete but we did it! Got a spartan race under my belt.
Having the race date put a timeline for me. It forced me to keep myself on track with working out 🏋🏻. Plenty of days I found myself dragging when it was gym time, but I made myself do the workout (mostly so my younger brother didn’t show me up...lol).
Since the competition it hasn’t been perfect but I have found it a lot easier to stay consistent with workouts 😁
Habits are hard to break but #accountability
