Sometimes we need angels to help us achieve our dreams. We got a late start to our hike and halfway up Ha Ling, Eva and Addie were a bit fussy at no fault to them. It was late, they were tired and hungry after a full day of playing and swimming. Then two hikers came up and gave both of them the attention and motivation to turn around and persevere. We made it all the way up 3.5 km and 811 meters of vert to enjoy this spectacular view and made it down all together by dusk. Then we had the 3.5 hour drive ahead of us and finally, after a food, gas, and nap break, we made it home at 3 am. Chris and Caroline, thank you for being champions of my girls. ❤️ #addiemei #evakimi
“We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures that we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.” — Jawaharlal Nehru
Every time I hike up to this lake and look out onto the sea of majestic mountains that surround it, my appreciation for our relatively limited time on this earth is reaffirmed. I always head back down the mountain remembering the fact that we’re just visitors here on this beautiful planet, and that the only requirement to enjoy it is to open our eyes and mind and chase after what makes us happy.
An adventurous day to test my hiking skills and our wildlife skills when a cougar crossed our path. Many firsts, and good bonding climbing Yamnuska. 🧗♀️💯
Sometimes I find it hard to believe that I grew up minutes from these places and that it took a northern boy with an insatiable sense of curiosity and adventure to show me the beauty and wonder that’s out there. I’m incredibly lucky to call this place home (even if it’s not currently) and even luckier to continue exploring it with him.
What can I say, I like to get high.
Look closely and you can see a space station
These two are getting married tomorrow and I can hardly wait. xoxoxo love you both so much and I can't wait to dance the night away with you tomorrow night ♡
Does anyone else get frowny when other hikers say “You’re almost there!” or “Wow, you made it!” or ask, “Do you know where you’re going?” 🤔 I tell myself it’s coming from a good place, but it does make me come home and research remote adventures! I go to the mountains for peace and simplicity, so give me crowds of squirrels and butterflies over crowds on summits any day. 🐿 🦋

Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step in your life. Tip toe if you must but take the step

Beaver Flats, Kananaskis. Too tired to hike so my son and I took the dog for a nature walk instead.
Elbow Lake! One day I will camp here :)
Elbow Lake tonight was pretty calm and quiet!
