Nudity always gets attention! Doesn’t it ? I was posing for a bunch of art students, but soon they kicked me out because they said I moved more than a sardine pulled out of the water.
Anyway, I wanted to share something very important and it includes nudity 🙊. Yes! It’s called Kangaroo Care or Skin to Skin. This is basically a technique of newborn care where babies are kept chest-to-chest and there is skin-to-skin with a parent, typically the mama. This helps us babies feel safe and calms us down.
You see, we stay in mama’s womb for 9 months. We are as close to our moms as we can be - getting warmth, food, protection, and oxygen from mama’s body. Then suddenly after labour we enter this world of lights and so much noise! And we are nude and cold and stressed! It’s a cultural shock for us! We need to feel safe again and when we are held naked against mama’s skin, it is the closest we can get to being back in the warmth and security of the womb.
Skin to skin contact has several benefits such as it releases hormones that relieve stress and stabilize baby's temperature, breathing rate, heart rate, and blood sugar. And it’s also good for mamas as it releases a hormone that lowers mom's stress and promotes healing. Another very important benefit of Kangaroo Care is that it helps in latching when breastfeeding.
Doctors and nurses here are not familiar with this concept and pull mamas away from babies and put babies in the nursery. Do you even realise how lonely we feel in the nursery with so many of us, disoriented naked bums around? Nurses insist that first feed will be given by them since mom will be out due to meds or c section post op. But I would urge all mamas to insist that they hold their babies for their own good and for the baby’s health.

On the weekend as we were driving somewhere as a family, my 6 year old asked me and my husband the meaning of a certain Surah (chapter) of the Quran. My husband began explaining in simple terms it’s about how some people only worry about this world and worldly matters and forget about life after death and Jannah/Heaven .The conversation drifted to discussion about Jannah and my son goes “ you know in Jannah there will be rivers of food , like chocolate spread, juice, even hot dogs”. We told him maybe and the food there would be even tastier, better and somethings we have never seen on earth. So he goes “when I see mum in Jannah and she makes me hot dogs they would taste even more delicious as even now her hot dogs are so tasty!”
This innocent statement just hit me so hard! He wants the family to be together in Jannah. It made me think, are we really being the best we can so we can actually deserve Jannah? Is Allah pleased with us? Are we doing enough?

Trimming or cutting cuticles during a manicure is purely cosmetic and doesn’t benefit the nail in any way. In fact, it’s actually harmful to your nails, the small area of skin is there to protect your nails from infection. When this skin is removed, your nail is left unprotected from bacteria and fungus. Cuticles should never be cut or trimmed as it leads to infections and ultimately damage to the nail
shocked when we learned that cutting cuticles at salons visits isn’t only discouraged but it’s often illegal depending on which state you live in! 😱

Isn't it too hot in Karachi these days? 🌞
Had a lunch at @howdykarachi
yesterday with my friends and our hearts were filled with the cowboy themed environment there. The first dish we ordered was 'Cockaroo Buckaroo' (half) the price of PKR: 500, a perfectly seasoned chicken baked and served with some fried rice and mashed potatoes as complementary. 🍖🐓
The second dish is named as 'Texan Chicken' (PKR 899) the chicken fillets were grilled mingled up with bowled fettuccine and a white sause giving it all a perfect kick. Served with fried veggies and mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes are kinda my favorite.🍜 'Wrangler Burger' (PKR 445) was the last dish we had. It has grilled fillet with tomatoes, cabbage leaves, sauses and a cheese slice, giving it a perfect notch.
The sauces were mouth watering whenever I take a bite. Curly fries couldn't be fried more perfectly, all crispy. 🍔
* ended the meal with 'Mint Margarita' (PKR 249) to refresh my soul. It was bitter sweet, but refreshing, I prefer mocktails over frizzy drinks as its healthy. 🍷😜

The staff was really friendly and helpful, I must say. They were quick to respond and served us delicious food, right on time.
--Masha'Allah-- Children are no doubt a great gift from Almighty Allah to all parents. Parents must think of their children as such treasures that all the wealth and material resources are worthless as when compared to one’s children. We, as parents, should thank and be grateful to Almighty Allah for blessing us with children whether they are boys or girls.
Today, it is quite disheartening to see that some parents rejoice when the newborn child is a male and show their dissatisfaction when the child is a female. But, this should not be the attitude. Islam does not condone this type of behavior, as such was the manner of the parents in the time of ignorance.
When Islam was revealed, it decreed a daughter like a son was a gift from Allah, to be granted to whomever Allah wishes of His worshipers.
“For Allah only is the kingship of the heavens and the earth; He creates whatever He wills; He may bestow daughters to whomever He wills, and sons to whomever He wills. Or may mix them, the sons and daughters; and may make barren whomever He wills; indeed He is All Knowing, Able.”
[Surah al-Shoora, Verses 49-50]
Be thankful of Allah every day, every moment for this blessing and love your daughters the way you love your sons. .

Let's talk about these differently abled humans around us. Yes you read it right, they are NOT disabled, they are differently abled. By the end of this I don't want you to get the message something like we need to be more sympathic towards them that's the wrong way to go about it. The main objective is to create a view that forces people to see these people as regular humans with different needs than ours. Autistic individuals may have different strengths and weaknesses than the general population, but it does not make them any less. If anything it makes them more.
differently abled people think what we can't. This makes their ability different - not inferior, not superior - just different. The term differently abled recognises talent and value in everybody and treats them equally. 📍How can you help?
•provide these people with unconditional love.
•Give them your time.
•Give them support • You can also help by spreading the word and sensitising people on the matters of mental conditions.
•you can even volunteer at NGOs serving to facilitate a better life for the differently abled. One such organization in karachi is Dar-ul-sukun.You can even give donations in these organizations.

To the couple I saw at gate number 23 of Jinnah international airport.
I saw how conscious you were about people around you.
I saw how you wanted to let people around know that you are educated.
You spoke English with your kids.
You seemed embarrassed because your kid was jumping around in the boarding area.
You scolded your kid for that.
He didn’t seem to get effected by that.
You grabbed him from his arm and gave him a good shake for acting improperly.
Perhaps you were embarrassed and wanted people to know that you are raising well mannered kids.
Your kids were not cooperating.
I want to let you know that no one cared.
No one was bothered by your kid jumping around.
No body judged you for that.
Also because of constant instructions in English made all who could hear believe that you are well educated.
When you left your seats for departure you didn’t take your leftovers from there.
You left your garbage to be picked up by airport staff.
And that made it apparent that you could do with some lessons about behaving like well mannered kids.
