There’s a trend right now called #shareyourrejections
that I’ve seen among Twitter. Generally used by people who are really successful. This is very cool but sometimes not relatable.
Because my meditation class focused on acceptance & being present...I’ve decided to share my top 3 failures so far in my life. Without the cushion of wealth, fame & success.
Number 1: I didn’t get into my top college. I wanted to go to @cmudrama
& I wasn’t talented enough. Yes, back in the day I wanted to be an actress. Bad. As in I auditioned in New York & all that jazz. Still not an actress.
2. I was academically dismissed from law school. At 41. This was a huge hit as I graduated with honors from my undergraduate.
3. I was divorced with 2 kids by the age of 26. Yes... I’m very happy with my second marriage. And I had to go through the first to understand what marriage actually was. Yes, I got two fabulous kids along the way but for a very long time - I was ashamed that I couldn’t make it work.
There you have it. I could write about all the wonderful things that have happened it my life to counter balance but this post is about #acceptance
& letting go of what was.
Now I find myself wanted to lose some aggression so off to #karate
class I go.
