This hike took us four hours and even though we didn't make it to the top of the mountain.. we did get to see the beautiful view along the way. I think that's an important lesson in life, even if we don't win, we should appreciate how far we have come, how we got to that point because we were able to experience a portion of beauty and to be proud of ourselves for achieving what we accomplished. โฌ‡๏ธ Comment below โฌ‡๏ธ what life lessons have you learned so far? Are you like me and keep clothes you've always wanted to fit back into? I know I have a few pieces of clothing in my dresser for keepsakes that I hope to rock back in it one day. Let me share this with you, I bought this #slipknot t-shirt 8 years ago and as time went on, the shirt started to feel tight and uncomfortable. I didn't like how I felt but I kept it and told myself I want to get back into this shirt and feel confident again. Its crazy what a piece of clothing can make you feel. Every year, I go through my dresser and closet, picking out clothes I haven't worn in a while, that don't fit my body frame properly, why did I buy this? Maybe I will wear again, or I've got to keep this one!! I didn't want to stay in negative thoughts that I will never fit into this shirt ever again, that it's not worth keeping that I should donate it, give up and move on, why not buy another slipknot shirt that fits? I didn't want to give up this shirt because I loved it and always brought me back the times I wore it. Just like how music brings you back to that moment in time and you still remember the lyrics to a song you havent heard of in years. Well, it's the same for me with certain pieces of clothing. Flash forward to yesterday morning when I finally had the courage to try it on again annnd viola! A perfect fit ๐Ÿ‘Œ! I couldn't believe it. It felt nice to finally wear this tee again after so many years of burying deep in my dresser. I must say that living a healthy lifestyle and working out has made the difference. Everyones body is different as well as the fitness journey. I've been going to the gym for 3-4 years and in the last 1 year and 7 months, I have learned so much about training that I'm seeing changes in the way I feel, confidence, energized, and strength. We get so wrapped up into what everyone else is doing in their fitness journey that we forget out path is completely different. ๐Ÿ”น The other day I thought, I need to up my game with the weights I am lifting and I quickly looked on social media and saw other badass girls lifts way heavier than me.. I become discourage to even attempt what I was going to lift when I stopped myself and said to myself.. "Karen, why are you comparing yourself? you are different than her! you will get there, just be consistent and keep pushing. continue to do what I am doing and progress will happen. you will see". Today that is what exactly happen, I deadlifted 5-10lbs heavier than I did last week! Happy FRI-YAY everyone ๐Ÿ’š it's the end of the week and you're ready to crush the weekend ๐Ÿ™ƒ Do you ever feel at times that you are just not in it at the gym today? Today was one of those days.. ๐Ÿ˜‘ I just did not want to be here, out of it and sort of exhausted. It's like that saying.. We need a vacation from our vacation and getting back into the swing of things at work is hard especially when it's a short week and you have over 300 emails to catch up on..๐Ÿ˜… It's a half day Friday with a fun activities after work but we have to make time for our health and wellness. So I went to the gym today, mind you I didn't give it my all but I did some cardio and stretched out my body. Today I did NOT want to go to the gym.. But I dragged my ass off my chair at work and made it happen. ๐Ÿ”น I got to the gym feeling tired, exhausted and just not in it. We all have those days, and yes, even I have them too. Everyone thinks I live at the gym but let's be real here for a moment. There are days where I am just not motivated and this week has been one of those moments. ๐Ÿ”น I was already making excuses for myself this morning on why I shouldn't go.. Eh, I'm too tired.. Ugh, I have so much work to do!!.. There is just not enough hours in a day for work and the gym... I don't even know what I feel like doing at the gym... Can I just lay down and fall asleep.. ๐Ÿ”น But I ended up going to the gym and sometimes when you push yourself to go. Those are the best workouts because afterwards you feel fantastic! ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿ’œ ๐Ÿค˜ ๐Ÿ”น Remember that you're not the only one who feels this way and that we all struggle. Having a support group that pushes you to go no matter what is so important and having a workout plan to reflect on is key when you have a foggy brain like I did today. I wanted to say Thank you for everything during the #SummerSweat program and for the @crossfuelpureperformance products!! I can't wait to try them. When I entered your contest, I couldn't believe I won. I was so surprised and excited to see how this new journey would looked like. Having a training program, meal plan, logging my food/workout has taught me that being consistent and training hard really does pay off. (I will post my before/after the program photo tomorrow! Thanks so much for making my morning today. This was awesome. I kept this magazine like it was my workout bible. When I saw this magazine in the store I was amazed at how beautiful she looked, I wanted to workout to get a body like that. A change in scenery is always the best way to mix up your workout. It can motivate you and make you work harder. You can get a great workout wherever you are, if you live close to a park, school with a track, a neighbourhood with winding roads, or hills are great alternatives than being stuck in a stinky, dark gym (I guess that's just my gym..๐Ÿ˜‘) running outside today made cardio not boring. Do you love music? ๐Ÿ’œ I do too!! Do you know what I love about music? I love the way music makes you feel, the way it brings you back to that specific point in time and place when you first heard a specific song. The melody, the bass riffs, the guitar solos, the drumming rhythms. I don't know about you but I'm basically a one piece band, I'll sing, do backup vocals, play drums and sing the solos haha it's the best thing ever ๐Ÿ’• I love that music can change the mood, it can make you happy, angry, sad, want to sing out loud or dance the night away. I love listening to music when I'm at the gym because it makes me feel pumped. If you haven't noticed by now I listen to heavy metal, thrash, rock, alternative genres. To me this style of music makes my heart beat as fast as the double base, gets me focused and pushes me for that last rep. I'm sure you feel it too when you listen to your fav genre, playlist, artist, track or albums. Make healthier choices Make room for nutritious, energy-boosting fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. Meal prep a few healthy meals during the week. 4. Keep moving Improve mobility, strength, and stamina by exercising and always on the move. Plus your behaviour, energy and mood will change. 5. Progress takes time Remember that progress takes time. Your chapter one is different than someone else's chapter 10. Don't compare yourself to others that have been at this for years.
