BBG Week 13 Arms 💪🏻 As promised, I finally recorded the exercises from week 13 arms and boy were they a killer. I did this circuit on Wednesday and today I still can’t feel my triceps. I love bbg because no matter how many times I go through the program, it always challenges me to my greatest length. Here’s the breakdown of the slides ⬇️ + I’ll also give some extra tips for each of these exercises in my story! 1️⃣ side lateral raises 2️⃣ modified push-ups (I’ll be on those little toes soon enough!!) 3️⃣ triceps dips 4️⃣ lay down push-ups / modified version 5️⃣ squat + press 6️⃣ weighted bent leg jack knives 7️⃣ mountain climbers 8️⃣ jump rope Go out + sweat y’all🤗💦

Recipe:⠀ Vegan spinach almond Ricotta⠀ Ingredients: ⠀ 1 (14 ounce) package of firm tofu⠀ 1 cup raw almonds⠀ 1/2 tsp salt⠀ 4 tbsp nutritional yeast⠀ 1/2 tbsp garlic powder⠀ 1/2 tbsp onion powder⠀ 1/4 tsp pepper⠀ 3 cups chopped spinach⠀ 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk⠀ ⠀ Method:⠀ Bring a small pot of water to a boil. Place your raw almonds into the boiling water. Let boil for 2 minutes.⠀ Drain the almonds immediately in a colander or strainer and rinse them with cold water to cool them. Blot the almonds dry with a paper towel.⠀ Use your fingers to gently squeeze the almonds and loosen the skin from them. Set skinless almonds in a bowl and set aside.⠀ Remove tofu from package and wrap in a clean kitchen towel or paper towel and squeeze for 20 seconds to allow for excess water to strain.⠀ In a food processor or high speed blender combine tofu, blanched almonds, nutritional yeast, unsweetened almond milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt & pepper. Blend for 1-2 minutes or until there is no chunks. Mixture will look lumpy and that is okay! Add more almond milk if needed.⠀ In a small pan cook chopped spinach with 1 tbsp on water for 1 minute or until spinach is wilted down.⠀ Once ricotta mixture is made and spinach is ready, combine the two in a medium size bowl and mix well. HAPPY FRIDAY!!! Lately, I’ve been thinking about Instagram stories and how much pressure can come along with it. I am not one that naturally thinks to share things on social media, so it has been an odd adjustment since they added that factor on this platform. I feel as if I’m always supposed to have at least something on my story. I don’t feel as if it’s always quality, and I’m definitely not always doing something worth sharing. My life isn’t that exciting and is mostly filled with kids, cats, gym, school, and work. Then there’s a few sprinkles of activities and life happenings. After reading that social media can cause anxiety, I’ve been pushing myself to stay away more when I don’t need to. I’ve started just pulling out my phone whenever I get a moment to sit. I look at my phone when there’s nothing new there. I also keep feeling like I need my phone when I should be relaxing and focusing on other things. So, I am definitely still going to use this, but I think I’m going to try to stop myself from spending so much time here. I want to feel a little less pressure and I really want to spend less time on my phone. I am not going to use my phone at all during meals out except for pictures, I am not going to scroll through Instagram to fall asleep, and I am not going to check my phone every time I have a minute of peace. I think that it takes my relaxing time away and makes days go by in a monotonous way. So, I’ll see how long I last, but just wanted to share some of the thoughts I have about Instagram. I created this account for bbg and the community, and with all of the changes of Instagram, I am not sure that’s what I have anymore. So, I definitely want to support girls in the community and be Insta friends, i just don’t feel like that’s as easy to find as it used to be! On that note, does anyone know where to find the #bbgcommunity anymore? All I ever get are random fitness people now and that’s not the people I am trying to connect with. Honestly, this summer I haven’t been the most consistent with working out 🤷🏽‍♀️ but sometimes it’s more important to live your life and enjoy a busy summer than be stressed about getting in all your workouts. I was planning to do week 36 abs today but couldn’t and even though the challenge is super quick and fun it’s out of my reach with the current shape so tomorrow I’m taking my progress pics (after practically 3 weeks off 😬 but still hoping to see some difference from the end of bbg 2) and calling bbg 3 a wrap. With this overtraining situation I have more of a sense of defeat than accomplishment but I know this too shall pass. . . Now that I haven’t worked out I haven’t been reading you posts as much either and I really miss you guys! I hope you’re all doing great 💪🏼. I promised to give you updates on finding my way out of this tunnel so what I’ve learned so far... you can’t force positivity. Sometimes you just have to accept you’re feeling down and give yourself TIME and SPACE to deal with it. It’s okay & there’s no need to beat yourself up about it. So I accepted that this is how I feel right now. I accepted that I’m going to have to take yet another week off. I’ve reduced the amount of caffeine, trying to remember to breathe deeply every now and then and making my walks shorter and slower. I started a blog as an outlet for my frustration for not being able to workout and to make notes on how to get through this. Writing has always been something I enjoy doing so it felt like a natural choice. Thank you all so much for your suggestions and support, it means the world to me even though I’m such a party pooper 💩 at the moment 😬😆 . . And Happy Friday everyone! Tomorrow is the day. I will leave for an other chapter of my life. Everything will change again. I feel so recharged now after some months of complete pause from all the work-related stuff. For the first time I really experience how essential rest is and how beneficial it can be. Even my hair is thanking my me for having choose to rest for some months.😅 I feel so powerful now, so energized, so ready to embrace the next experience, the next challenges, the next “my-new-life”. Sweet potato toasting 3 ways and for once- no savory options 😱 Paleo, plant based, and delicious at the same time 😉 I needed a no cook breakfast because I packed up everything in our kitchen last night 👌🏻 Our kitchen is being redone today so no cooking over here 🙆🏼‍♀️ I prepped these last night, pulled them out of the fridge, and ate them cold this morning 👌🏻 Topped with allllll the sweet goods 😍 I ended up combining the mashed raspberries and cashew butter toasts into a sandwich 🤤 Best decision I’ve made so far today 😜 I used a dairy free almond milk yogurt which I haven’t tried in forever and it was better than I remembered 😍 It’s fun to switch things up and have a completely plant based meal now and then 👌🏻 I’ve got an amazing day ahead- new kitchen here we come 🙌🏻💕 Have a great Friday guys!! ————————————————————————————- #breakfast details 👉🏻 1 sweet potato sliced thin into 4ths- I only had 3 this morning. A GOOD workout doesn’t mean it’s a PERFECT workout. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This morning I did my 6 mike training run outside and it wasn’t near as fast as last week’s. I even got a killer cramp with less than .75 miles to go and had to walk so I had to add more distance running at the end to make it up. I was dripping sweat and wanted to stop but I finished! So overall YES still a good workout even though it wasn’t flawless. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Just get out there and do SOMETHING today! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Happy Friday 🙌🏻😁

Posted this #sweatyselfie because my eyes 👀 look 🔥 but💚 got in another workout today! Smashed my modified #BBG full body and @sierranielsen #ysschallenge day 5! I loved some of the workouts she incorporated they’re variations I’ve never done before so it was fun to change it up! I don’t have weights so I used 2 full bottles of gin instead 😹 I really had to focus so I didn’t drop a glass bottle on my face/ smash it on the floor. Feeling grateful today or the opportunity to do what I live and my ability to have control over my body as a woman ♀
