This whole fitness thing is so much fun to me but I know there are so many other girls out there better than me & thats kinda stopped me from pursuing anything or posting pictures before. I’ve been trying to think of something inspiring to say today, but I’m coming up dry. As smoke continues to choke the Bay Area, we’re getting news of evacuees living in tent cities, too-slow evacuation orders, and families who have lost everything and will likely never recover financially or emotionally. Easy Shrimp Stir Fry 😍 Added in zoodles for a fun twist πŸ€— Sometimes I do cauli rice but I didn’t have any on hand so instead made some easy zoodles πŸ‘ŒπŸ» Baked my shrimp (wayyy easier than any other method I’ve found!), used frozen stir fry veggies, and topped with coconut aminos 😎 If you aren’t using frozen stir fry veggies, they are seriously such a game changer πŸ™ŒπŸ» Saves you so so much time + you don’t have to buy a bunch of different veggies 🌢 🌽 Coconut aminos are a great soy sauce sub! I talked about it more in my blog post (full recipe + instructions there too!) but basically they taste the same + packed with vitamins! You can find them at almost any health food store πŸ‘ŒπŸ» What’s your favorite stir fry protein?! I think mine has to be shrimp but I love doing tofu too!! That’s the best part about this recipe- you can just switch it up every week to what you’ve got on hand πŸ’― Plus it’s easy to customize for the whole fam! Radio silence because IM ON HOLIDAAAAAAAY. Two weeks island hopping around the Phillipines and my heart has never been happier. This year has been H U G E and this gal is pooped, so it’s nice to finally be able to clock out for a bit! Not going to lie, been struggling to find overly healthy options over here, so yesterday we caught the bus into El Nido town and found the most amazing beach bar that did the BEST pitas and falafels ever (+ cold beer). One happy camper ❀️
Why do you workout? The amazing @shona_vertue discussed recently how aesthetics are not always the reason to workout and this is so true! When I first started my fitness journey all I cared about was how I looked! I was obsessed with being as small as possibly! It took me a long time to realise that the way you look is not what's important! It's being happy with your body and happy in yourself! It working out to be the healthiest version of yourself so you can enjoy life to the fullest! Yes it is nice to see your body change and look good but at the end of the day this is not what will make you happy!

Some mornings the struggle is real...today I was feeling extra sluggish, not sure if it’s the colder weather or the lack of sleep. 😴. Regardless, 5 mins into the tread workout and I wanted to walk out and go home. I was getting frustrated I couldn’t get a rhythm down for my breathing, so even my base pace felt difficult. It took me nearly the entire first circuit to find my groove and get myself focused to complete it. It’s not always easy, but it always feels great to know I stuck it out and gave it my best shot!! Yesterday’s breakfast courtesy of @fed_hq , a dietitian-curated meal delivery company that emphasizes balanced nutrition (amazing!!). I’m not usually a savory breakfast kinda girl but this was delish πŸ˜‹. In my bowl: herbed tofu scramble, potato hash, sautΓ©ed peppers + 1/4 avocado (added that part myself hehe πŸ₯‘). While I always encourage preparing meals at home as much as possible, I understand that it doesn’t work for everyone. To be honest, I haven't posted in a while here because I wasn't working out as much as last summer with Alice anymore. The past three months I wasn't as strict as I used to with my diet and skipped my weekly workouts entirely because I wasn't in the mood and just wanted to relax and don't think about calories and my weight all the time. I went on vacation for another week and just enjoyed myself with my loved one and had the best time possible. I won't lie, I gained 4kg again and got lazy as heck. But it's okay and totally fine. I don't regret anything at all and would do it all over again. I guess, what I want to say is that it's okay to take a break and enjoy yourself once in a while and noone should feel guilty about it. 😊
πŸ”…HOW MANY CALORIES DO WE NEED TO EAT⁉️ Most of the times we believe we need to eat less, but I’m here to tell you it is not always like that. As you know during my fitness journey (roughly 2years) I increased my calorie intake from 1200 to 2000 kcal. I was really thinking that 2000 was the right amount for me. Sometimes even I think that I should eat more to lean a little bit. However, since last week I was feeling somewhat tired and my #pwrprogram workouts were starting to increase intensity (β€œgive me all the food!!” Right @soulfood_fitmind ?😜), so I thought... β€œmaybe I should eat moreπŸ€”β€ Well so I did! i increased my calories by 100 kcal to see how my body responds to it. After almost 10 days, I can tell you what happened: . 1️⃣ my performance during workout increased A LOT!! I am now using weight way heavier and feeling very strong πŸ‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ 2️⃣ I’m happier to eat more 3️⃣ I don’t feel the need to take a small nap after lunch 4️⃣ I didn’t weight myself, but I feel LEANER πŸ’ͺ🏻 . Moral of the story: we always tend to eat less to be leaner, but FOOD IS OUR FRIEND!! It is fuel, we need it to be productive and active in our life. So, if you maybe feel tired/ not so productive and you are sleeping enough.... think, maybe I’m eating too little? Less food doesn’t always mean lean body!
