Finally got off (on) my arse and started working on my Business Admin course today. It's horrible out and I'm still ill, so I'm glad to be kept busy and doing something worthwhile. Not gonna lie... It's been 10 years since I finished education, so this is a bit scary, but exciting! 😊

SELF MANAGEMENT. A large part of self management is in getting ourselves to not do the things we shouldn’t be doing in the first place. .
In all areas in life there are only 3 things we should be doing ourselves that actually make the biggest difference. Yet we spend countless hours doing menial tasks we think move the needle. .
Organizing files, alphabetizing business cards, straightening our desks, reviewing the plan, etc. Those might be tasks needing to get done, just not by you! Figure out the 1-3 things that as the leader in your life will pay you and then only do those things.
Let them work for their food and use those fantastic brains 🐶
I've always placed so much emphasis on kennel enrichment...treat games for sensory stimulation...find an empty box, put treats in it, fill a Kong, an egg box, scatter feed, throw their kibble in the grass or hide it in their room... Why? Well, these shelter dogs need plenty more mental stimulation than just a walk in their daily schedule. Consider that a dog's sense of smell is 1000 times stronger than that of a humans and provides them with important information about their environment. The olfactory nerves are connected to the limbic system which is a part of the brain where emotions are processed.
Now take a sterile shelter room (sterile for obvious reasons), yet with no access to basic sensory stimulation and kennel enrichment it's no wonder behavioural issues arise. It's very easy to provide basic kennel enrichment.
Enrichment is vital in reducing boredom, frustration and problem behaviours developing. Mentally stimulating exercises help increase calm and help give the animal some sort of control of his environment...and a good brain work out!!! So enrichment, enrichment, enrichment!!! 🤔🤓🐾🐕

Bar Buca is my absolute favourite spot in Toronto. Enjoyed my espresso with some good company tonight. Nice way to end a great (and busy) day. Day Recap: Lawyers office in the am finalizing divorce papers, good meetings at work, Lisa rode me hard at the gym (tough workout! Still hurting!) therapy session followed by a coffee at Buca with some great conversations and company. A nice walk back to the condo. Chillaxing now. #keepingbusy #gettingshitdone #heal #bestversionofme #littlethings
