Early bird gets the worm...or the early human gets the bird. I hear if you’re early enough, you can get the bird and the worm, if you’re into that kind of thing.
| My Girls | It can take some time to figure things out in a canoe – one has to feel out balance, center of gravity, and direction. They took to it without issue. Next is getting Jacie’s paws on a paddle.
I wish you could hear the hum of the cicadas tonight. You can almost feel them. The desert is very much alive and riotous.
Hiking is as much mental as it is about your physical ability. My legs were aching but my mind was saying ”GET UP THAT MOUNTAIN” so up I went 🤗
Had a great weekend fishing and scouting for elk season!
Mt. Adams floating on the horizon the base obscured by smoke from fires in eastern Oregon.
Quickly becoming one of my favorite fish to catch (and consume).
Never miss a Sunday show. Always marry a guy you meet at the Panic show. ❤️ Good thing I met this guy at Red Rocks, way back in 2002.

Thank god for BLM land and free campsites. We setup camp last night at the end of a trail overlooking this trout-filled river with mountains in the horizon. A group of mule deer fed within 100 yards of us along the river, ducks and geese swam below us, a group of 50-75 pelicans swooped in right at dark and this double rainbow popped out right at sunset. Hard to beat places like this.
