Mandatory Diwali Pics. (Latepost)
I think I'm wearing this dress and shoes after maybe what 2 years? For most people Diwali is a festival of lights, meeting friends and relatives, house parties, card nights, dressing up in your best attire, etc. It is a time to go on a trip down the memory lane and make more memories. For me it's never been that. I've not been a fan of festivals coz those days have never really been special for me. It's just another normal day for me. I never "celebrated" Diwali till 6 years ago. The only memories I've got of celebrating Diwali is wearing ethnic to office and clicking pics with my office colleagues...Friends. I've said this before and I'll say it again, my first workplace will always be home, and the people there family. There were so many things that may not seem like a big deal, but I did them for the first time after I started working. I found, friendship, people who had more faith in me than I did in myself, I started believing in myself, got confident, started actually living and not just existing only after this. I wouldn't be half as confident I am today if it weren't for the mentors I found there. The kind of belief they had in me was something I'd never really experienced. Never having celebrated Diwali and I doubt I'll be celebrating much of it anytime soon as well considering how anti social I've become. For me Diwali will always be remembering the time I had with my office peeps as those are probably the best Diwlali memories I've got.
