“Obstacles cannot crush me. Every obstacle yields to stern resolve. He who is fixed to a star does not change his mind.”
~ Leonardo da Vinci
I used to think perfect was the goal.
Once I felt like I had it all, something in my life would turn its course. The endless cycle of achievement followed by roadblock constantly put me in a place of starting all over.
Hear me out, loud and clear. You will struggle. I will struggle. We will struggle. You’re not perfect. I’m not perfect. We’re not perfect. I will never quit. You will never quit. We will never quit. Embrace the roadblock, the struggle, the hard. Hard is where the change happens.
Day 30 - One of the few advantages of living in a small town, you can set up a tripod in the middle of Main Street and not worry about getting run over. I really want some serious snowfall again this year.
If buying or listing this winter is on your mind, check this out (link in bio and here: https://www.sjbdgroup.com/blog/2018/12).
Take me back to the night we met...
I’m here for me and my team.
You can join us or keep watching.
You can’t do both.
You guys... if anyone asks what happened to me, just tell them I took this picture, and then DIED from how cute my kid is 🥰😂
But on another note, we took Cain to @buildabear
🐻 last weekend for his first time and he loved it! They have several Holiday Themed animals this season with all the cutest accessories! Cain is very into Santa this year so we of course had to dress Comet in a Santa Suit! 🎅🏼🦌. —————————————————
Is there anything your littles are obsessed with this Holiday Season? 🥰
Moving day yet again! We left North Carolina this morning for the rolling hills of Kentucky. Can’t wait to explore a bit.
Two years ago, I was at my healthiest, fittest state (or so I thought). Prepping for your wedding day takes a lot of time, commitment, & planning. From the first song, floral decor, bridal party attire, reception schedule, and of course, how you will look as the bride of the day in all of your keepsake photos.
I worked hard. Working out twice a day, sometimes three times a day. Eating chicken and veggies only, and a glass of wine or a beer every other month to alleviate the wedding stress. 😂
The progress I made was amazing. I received a lot of compliments, and I felt so happy and confident in my wedding dress. The confidence continued on our honeymoon, in my bikini, for the first time in my life.
It wasn’t too long before the new bride exhaustion kicked in, and I told myself I deserved to rest. So I took a week off. That turned into a month, and a few more months that led into winter, a lot of sweets, and alcohol.
Two years later, I don’t choose to workout or eat a certain way because I need to look a certain way in a wedding dress or bikini. I do it for my health, confidence, happiness. Most importantly, I do it for the mother I will someday become. Your wedding day is a special day that happens once in your life. The day you become a mother lasts a lifetime. You can bet when that day comes for me, my baby(ies) will have the best me I’ve ever been.
That’s my life resolution.

Mondays are MY days 🧘🏼♀️ and now they’re YOUR days to get to know a little bit more about me and Play Artisan!
FAQ: “What is Play Artisan?” ✍🏻
- Play Artisan is a one-woman, not-quite-small-business-esq adventure that I began in 2017. Right now, we are focused on bringing sensory play into 🏡 with our homemade play dough kits! However, we are always evolving and the journey has only begun. Stay with us! “What is your occupation?” 👩🏼💼
- I am a full-time social worker helping to strengthen families and reunite parents + children involved with child protective services. 👨👩👧👦
Bring it on, exam week.
The Dream Team
⠀⠀⠀I see that you look a little uncomfortable in this position, but you wouldn’t move a muscle due to your emotions about mom returning to her Monday schedule tomorrow. 3 more days, bud, and Christmas break is ours!
Day 28 - I rarely capture sunrises. Mornings are not my thing. Sunsets fit into my schedule better. I just happened to be up early one morning and was wise enough to take a camera out with me. This foggy sunrise almost tempts me to get up earlier...almost.
🦕I threw together this cool dinosaur kit, 🌿 and I have to say, I think it’s pretty DINO-mite! 🧨 (See what I did there?) 🤣 Should we make the kit a regular?
Question: What is your health worth?
Is it worth the fast food, or a perfectly portioned home cooked goodness? Is it worth the cheap frozen dinners or some fresh produce and meats? Is it worth a 5-minute drive-thru for one meal or an hour of prepping on a Sunday for a weeks worth of meals? What about that $20 a month gym membership you never use? 🙄 or maybe you’re squeezing in once a week... versus access to 50+ different workout programs you can do from home, your classroom, the park, a hotel room, or the gym you’re paying for?! When I hit 25, it also hit me how important my health is, and honestly, it’s worth every penny.
So, I’m talking to all of you excuse-makers (I was once one, too) 🤭 My bootcamp prep is officially open. Drop the $50-$100 Target spree, the daily Starbucks runs, and the nightly take-out because you don’t have time to cook. Invest in your health. You are worth it. 👏
