"SEAL class 264 had a 94 percent attrition rate," writes Barker. "Of the 256 men who started, only 16 graduated with the class." What distinguishes the successful, it seems, is mental fitness.
"When the Navy started teaching BUD/S applicants to speak to themselves positively, combined with other mental tools, BUD/S passing rates increased nearly 10 percent," he writes.
Positive self-talk can be useful in any industry. What makes a good insurance salesman, for instance, is the ability to endure constant rejection. As Barker notes, research has shown that exceptionally optimistic salesman sell exceptionally well.

On the 10th day before Christmas my keto life gave to me....3 more hours of energy.
Before keto I was slightly active 🤷🏼♀️ but not energetic. I’d take Bella for a walk every now and again but not nearly as much as I do now! She actually ran with me this morning. I was so proud of her for staying beside me and not tripping me! Dixie my other pup didn’t do as well 🙅♀️ but Bella kept my motivation up. Keto gives me this hyper feeling! I feel ready to go all the time. I feel less groggy 🥴and ready to take the day on. How does your lifestyle make you feel?

True: obesity, heart disease and diabetes have significantly impacted my family. Also true: before I started running, I was obese. Yet another truth: running has changed my mind, body and soul, allowing me to accomplish what I used to think were pipe dreams. I’ve embarked on the road to the fountain of youth and good health, and it all began when I took that first step.
I was sidelined on and off for a couple of weeks, unable to run without significant pain in the bicep femoris. Three times over the last four weeks I pushed myself too hard, too long, too fast, and I paid the price. Today, I felt no pain in the first mile, and only a dull ache from time to time between up until I finished. Still not back at 100% just yet but, conservatively, I’d say I’m 75-80% there. I’m looking forward to more pain-free miles, to setting more goals, and to smashing more PRs.

I am taking a moment to be proud of my self. Lately I’ve been looking in the mirror and picking at my flaws a lot because I wanted to be a little further along in my goals by now, however I realized this morning that I’m the same weight today as I was when I returned from our camping holiday last Jan, I’ve managed another year of healthily maintaining my weight, I’m about to enter the last year of my 30’s and I’m the fittest, healthiest and slimmest I have been since I was about 16yo so today I am reminding myself to be proud of me. I may still not be running but I’m damn proud for not emotionally turning to food for comfort.
I’m tagging a few of you to stop and remind yourselves too. ❤️

Inside I have mashed avocado, smoked ham and walnuts.....then rolled up and dipped in sour cream. .
They are seriously finger licking good 🙌🙌🙌
A couple of handfuls of grated mozzarella onto some baking paper on an oven tray. Top with a little grated Parmesan, sprinkle some spices of your choice on top.
Then into the oven until brown. When you take it out of the oven quickly add your choice of filling and roll up. It will crisp once cooled down.
Dip in sour cream for extra yum 😋
This is a man who couldn’t find his good earbuds or head lamp, and didn’t want to run in drizzling 38 degree weather. He did manage to find his big boy pants and stomp out a few miles in the dark though.
