✨ Estrogen Dominance.
I struggled with this hormonal imbalance for years! It took me so long to figure out what exactly it was. I went to my practitioner asking if I could do a test to see where my hormone levels were at.. and of course, he told me no because I’m “too young” to have hormone issues.
Let me tell you.. you are never too young. In fact, teenagers struggle with them a lot due to the fact they’re going through so many hormonal changes (such as puberty.)
So, I had to take things into my own hands and figure out what exactly was going on inside my body and what I needed to do to help fix it.
So, what lead me to believe I had estrogen dominance?
• Constant Bloating
• Acne (this was the biggest one)
• Irregular mensural cycles
• Brain Fog
• Digestion Issues (Those were just my symptoms, there are many more that can indicate high estrogen.)
Everything I read about estrogen dominance I left as if I could relate to.. so I self diagnosed myself with it since no one would help me figure it out for sure.
Then began my long long journey of finding holistic ways of healing my hormones! It took a lot of trial and error.
Here are just a couple steps I began to take that made a world of a difference.
1.) Getting OFF birth control.
2.) Changing up my diet to a ketogenic lifestyle.
3.) Quality of my food. Food has altering hormones in it as well.. so be aware!
4.) Switching my skin care to all natural. (@frankandwhit
is the brand I use.)
Cheap skincare products that you can buy at drug stores have loads of toxins, chemicals, all of which are absorbed through our skin and can alter our hormonal imbalance as well.
5.) I started taking natural herbs such as: Milk Thistle, Evening Primrose Oil, Dandelion Root Tea, Lemon Water, And Turmeric.
6.) I decrease the intensity of my workouts.
There is so much work that goes into balancing your hormones. Just know that even if doctors won’t believe you sometimes that doesn’t mean you aren’t suffering from some issue. You know your body the best! Do your own research. Take your health into your own hands sometimes.
