Single Leg Romanian Deadlift- The intent is to keep the mid section stable and tight, hips pointing towards the ground, back leg straight with glute engaged while fighting the external rotation (pointing out) of the foot. Keep a straight line from the back of your head to the heel. Actively pull yourself up with your leg-down glute and hamstring. 16kg x 8/8, 20kg x 5/5, 24kg x 2/2 Zercher squat - putting load on my back right now is not feeling good but I still need to squat heavy-ish in some way. Simply hold onto it and stay tight. This may be one of the better ways to teach someone how to create intra-abdominal pressure, not to mention the tension you must create to remain safe. True strength is learned through tension. Worked up to a set of six with 175. More presses, and day 6 of 100 swings complete. Then I watched you get cut open(c-section) bring our beautiful, smart, advanced, strong, & funny son into the world. Then I watched you get injured mentally & physically. That hurt my heart. Then I watched you go thru HELL recovering just to be able to start working out again & so much more of what you enjoyed in life. I have such a high respect for you. You’ve broken barriers that I’ve never seen anyone do. It’s tough being a woman. Even the complexes of a woman is hard. This is what makes me value you so much more. I’m using a 15lb kettlebell but if you don’t have one, you can use your bodyweight to start very small and just do the movements, a dumbbell or even a filled milk gallon. . 1. Goblet Squat – 10-12 reps, 3 sets, 30 second rest between sets 2. Shoulder press – 8-10 reps each side, 3 sets, 30 second rest between sets 3. Figure 8’s – 10 reps each way, 3 sets, 30 second rest between sets 4. One-Arm Row- 8-10 reps each side, 3 sets, 30 second rest between sets 5.
