Happy little chappy. Only 3 more school days to go!! #happy #summer
#alleyesonme
Irgendwie nicht so meins.
Mein Blick aufs Brautpaar gerichtet. Weiche Knie.

Natures playground. Give us mountains, soft soil, fresh air, healthy ecosystems, and lush wildflowers! We’re alright. These little adventurers are in their element. Camping, stargazing, Exploring mountainsides, boulders, plants, making a shelter for Toothless, and nature-art was awesome! #mountainculture #naturekids #kidsoutside #mountaingirls #kidsstuff #getkidsoutside #explorerkids #campinglife #campingkids #naturecrafts #wildflowers #mountainside
Took the flippity flappity dog down to the ocean for a swim this evening. The water was so cold my feet ached so I didn't make it in too but the temperature was several degrees cooler at the beach compared to in town. After watching 3 rambunctious boys in a pool all afternoon it was nice to take a breath and clear my head.
Here's the thing... I hate poop. 💩🤢Chicken poop, pig poop, baby poop, all of it. I can't stand changing diapers and it's by far my least favourite part of having animals. I'm so grateful for two thing; that my last baby has been potty trained for some time and that I have a husband who has no problem shovelling poop and cleaning toilets. 💩🙅🏼

Today was a day, from the moment my feet hit the floor till I hit the front door after work. Do you sometimes feel like some days are designed just to test you? I do, and although I passed today's test, I feel a little defeated by it. Time to rise above. I think kiddo could sense my mood, and did his job with no reminders. Thank you for small favors, Monday. #nickabug

When the kids brought out the paints and asked me if they could do some painting, my daughter decided painting leaves was a good way to incorporate nature. Who was I to argue right? I mean when you have a child that loves nature as much as you, painting leaves sounded like a great idea.
We headed out into nature and collected all different types of leaves and we talked about which trees we thought they had fallen from. It was a great exercise to get the kids to look up and pick a tree, look at the leaves on the tree and how they changed once they had fallen and marry the fallen leaves to the trees. It sparked a few questions about why leaves fall, and how trees provide oxygen, all of which got answered of course.

We are talking a lot about bears these days. My son has a bit of an obsession/worry about bears. He and I have never seen a bear walking together, only once did we see one biking in the mountains and my husband was there too. I have encountered bears on my own and they have run from me almost every time. But R. has quite a heightened fear of bears right now to the point he is stressing about going to the woods. We are trying to work through this because he otherwise is quite happy after a walk. I pointed out today that I felt safer where I was in the forest than I did in our neighborhood, which has some urban city problems going on right now. Most recently our neighbours were out walking and had to turn around after they saw some young people hacking at a road sign with a machete. Ummm yeah I will take my chance with wildlife thank you. Knock on wood tho as R would say! Lets just hope for no bears and no machetes on walks that seems like a good policy.
“Nature is too thin a screen; the glory of the omnipresent God bursts through everywhere.”

I love it when our kids want to get involved in the garden. It's the reason why I love what I do. If you can mix work with what you love you are on a winner.
These kids have become the face of Family Garden Life. They love all the projects we do and they love sharing them with their friends as well.
It's about bringing families and friends together in the garden and having fun.
As a direct result, they learn about our garden and how valuable it is to our health and well-being. ..
The good life.
We're feasting on the last of the snap peas from the garden but the shelling peas are just starting to get plump enough to harvest!
Green peas are a great source of antioxidants, have anti-inflammatory benefits, help regulate blood sugar and keep the heart healthy! ❤️
They are also incredibly helpful in the garden! Pea plants take nitrogen gas and convert it into a usable source of nitrogen in the soil meaning you don't need to add fertilizer! Crop rotation with peas also decreases pest problems - natural pest control! 👍🏻
Who knew green peas had so many amazing benefits! 🙌🏻
Check out my stories for one of my favourite pea recipes!
