One thing I’ve noticed since my daughter’s food allergy diagnosis, is how much I turn to food for comfort. Let me just say how much I MISS my peanut butter. It was one of my favorites and it’s hard this time of year for me because I just wanna eat ALL the sweets and we obviously can’t do that anymore.
Thank goodness for @sunbutter.
Did y’all know they have a section on their site with a huge selection of amazing recipes?!? I decided to try recreating one of my favorites (buckeyes) and have shared their recipe up on my blog! Trust me.... this is a new MUST have dessert for you and you family! Don’t let food allergies hold you back from enjoying and loving food, even if it looks a little different ☺️ ((link in profile!))
Hi my name is Sara without the H and I am obsessed with almond flour 😍
My kids and myself have allergies. My son and myself have celiac, littlest is gluten intolerant, we all can’t tolerate soy and both littles can’t have dairy. Am I sad? Nope! Not even a little bit. I can make anything we want. Not only that but I can make it BETTER for us. Less/no sugar, without the loads of grains (that damage the guts even more when you have celiac), I make it with foods that nurture us vs tearing us down.
I get comments often like
“I’m so sorry your kids can’t eat whatever they want”
“It must be so hard to deal with all those food issues”
“What do you even eat?”
Well here ya go 🙃
We eat Whole Foods tons of 🥦🥗🍳🍉 🥩 🍗
We eat foods that contain ingredients we can read without googling, foods we could buy at the store to make said item.
Sugar isn’t a normal part of our diet but we allow the kids to indulge because it’s healthy for them to know what makes their bodies feel good
We rarely eat out, We think why spend $40-$50 on one meal when that can feed us 6-7 meals
When I bake I use lots of things like almond flour, coconut oil, maple syrup, honey. You get the point.
My kids don’t know any different, so don’t be sorry when you see kids who can’t eat all the “normal” kid foods. That’s all they know and to be honest since removing all the allergen foods we eat so much better, we feel better and the best part? We rarely get sick.
✊🏻 To all the allergy mommas, your babies won’t be sad they can’t have that cupcake, bring them their own. Being different isn’t a bad thing. To the new allergy families it gets easier, you find what works and you won’t even have to think about it anymore🙌🏼

A year ago this weekend, Steve and I hosted our final Denver pick up day, and did our final delivery runs. We’d lost our main income, that had allowed us to operate Sit By Me part time, for passion, rather than earnings. Our cottage kitchen bakery met many needs, in us, and in our Celiac and food allergy community. Some of you have been with us since day one, back in 2016, and some of you met us later on, in our Branson storefront. We are grateful to you ALL for investing in our story, encouraging us through three challenging years, and allowing us into your lives.💕
We’re back in Denver now, and being on hiatus hurts. We’ll return as soon as we can, as we miss our meaningful work, and connecting with others!
We have two amazing sales going on! ALL Food Allergy shirts are 50% off using code SHIRT50 or you can take 15% off your entire order using code MERRYANDBRIGHT

Double tap🎄🎄 if you know exactly where your child’s epi is right now! It can be overwhelming to remember everything and get your kids ready when you’re leaving the house ... so, here’s a friendly reminder to carry epi and inhalers everywhere! Keep it in your kid’s bag and yours as well so it goes where you go! That way you have it if an emergency arises!
We all get busy around the holidays so it’s important to keep organized!
Here are a couple other reminders: ❗️In event of anaphylaxis, GIVE EPI then CALL 911
❗️Check expiration dates on all meds ❗️Inform your friends and family of your child’s allergies
❗️Retrain caregivers and close friends who spend time with your child
❗️Carry safe snack and treats - it’s the season of treats being everywhere...they’ll be less tempted to be impulsive if they know safe options are available.
❗️Find non-food activities that will turn into traditions 😉
HAVE FUN AND BE SAFE this weekend and always!❤️💚💙#foodallergy #foodallergies #foodallergyunboxed
New account (old one was lost!) calls for Friday introductions! Hi! We’re Angie & Steve! We’re bakers, but for now-
Steve’s a Canadian-American environmental scientist currently working in Manitoba.
I’m a writer from the Midwest, presently working full time on Lyme recovery.
Our family lives with multiple food allergies, as well as Celiac Disease, environmental allergies, & asthma.
Our shared passion is baking for people like us. Folks making everything from scratch in order to eat safely. Folks who often need a break! Our favorite things to make are birthday cakes for kids with allergies!
We operated a part time home-based Denver bakery for 2 years, then opened a dedicated GF allergy-friendly storefront in Branson.
Though we recently closed our Branson business & moved back to Denver to focus on our family’s needs, we hope to do some very limited baking soon!
😅Okay, that was long! Thanks for reading! Wishes for a nice weekend!💕

Hi friends! It's been a while since I've done an #introductionfriday
post, and I'd like to introduce myself to all of my new followers! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'm Stephanie.💕 I'm wife to Wayne and mommy to Will (7), Samantha (5) and Joshua (3). All three of my children have multiple and different food allergies, with peanut being the only one they all share.
I have learned a LOT over the years about food allergies and have experienced all types of reactions with my children to all kinds of foods (bananas sent my daughter to urgent care!). I am still learning, but it is my hope to connect with other allergy moms and sufferers to build community. It can feel extremely isolating and lonely. It is my mission to let other allergy moms know they're not alone!
Almost 5 years ago, when my 2nd child was a baby, I found myself on a counselor's couch feeling overwhelmed about life and crippled with fear over the thought of losing my children.
I still see my counselor regularly, and I am a NEW woman because of all that I have learned through her and the guidance of others. I live and walk in FREEDOM (most days!) and no longer live in fear.
I am passionate about helping other women step into who they were created to be! This passion led me into taking the leap to become a wellness coach earlier this year because I have learned that stepping into that requires feeding your body (nutrition & fitness), soul (mind & thoughts) and spirit (spiritual connection) the best possible "food". It's all connected!
My hope is that you won't settle for the status quo, but that you will start to believe the TRUTH that you have a Father who loves you and has made you for MORE than "normal". ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You are EXTRAORDINARY. It's time to start believing it!
My goal is to encourage you to be a better version of yourself through sisterhood, helpful tips, inspiration and entertainment! (The entertainment piece is in my stories.💃🏼)
And being the best possible version of yourself is what you want, right? Right! Let's do it!!
Remember, we are ALL more Super than our allergies!

It’s December now which means Christmas season is in full gear! Christmas is such an interesting season isn’t it?!?For most, it brings feelings of nostalgia & joy. For some, it may be a time of sadness or a reminder of loss in your life. And for those in the food allergy community, it can be a season of fear. A fear of knowing there will be food at every holiday gathering & the anxiety that comes with that.
This Christmas, let’s try and focus on lifting each other up & let us ALL remember the real meaning & beauty of Christmas and all the joy that it brings 🎄💕🎁🙏🏻
Had a fun morning taking some photos... and then treated myself to a #safeandsweet
cupcake afterwards ❤️🧁📦 .
While I don’t have #foodallergies
I choose to avoid those allergens my children are allergic to. .
Throughout these years I’ve been dairy free, egg free, peanut free, tree nut free, soy free, and gluten free. .
Currently I avoid eggs and peanuts and also kiwi and pineapple. I just find it easier and much less stressful to avoid their allergens and helps my children to not feel any different to their parents. .
Do you manage allergies in yourself or children? Do you choose to avoid their allergens?
Did you know our Food Allergy Magnetic Phrases contain allergens beyond the Top 8? We have corn, sesame, celery, strawberry, garlic, sulphites, mustard, artificial colors, peas--plus related conditions like FPIES, EOE, Celiac, Mast Cell, etc!
You can make fun or informative messages on the fridge with these playful magnets! Remember, 15% off using code MERRYANDBRIGHT

Oral food challenges can be frightening for patients and parents alike. But the silver lining? A patient will clearly understand what reaction symptoms are and how quickly they resolve with proper medication, all while under their doctor's care. That's got to build a lot of patient confidence that accidental reactions are navigable and survivable! Bonus? Sometimes a patient learns they're not allergic any more (or after all).
