Another option for your weekend brunching! This is an oatmeal based pancake sweetened with bananas. I used GF oats and topped them with pure maple syrup and oh my goshhhhhh they’re the best.⠀

topped with frozen fig😉💖 So I have received a few questions regarding frozen figs the other day - if they are store-bought or I made them, what's the best way to freeze them...🍧 It's not a huge tip but here's what I do: Gently rinse them off with water (they are super fragile so careful not to lose their skin), cut them in half, wrap each one of them with plastic food wrap, carefully put them into a slider storage plastic bag, and freeze them.
And I would say use Japanese plastic food wrap - because they are amazing❣️ Haha it's funny to comment on plastic wrap, but I'm telling you it's one of the best in the world. Super thin but strong and easy to cut so when you're trying to wrap something fragile, you can use it with one hand so easily. I have been asked to buy them as souvenir for friends living overseas so many times, so it's not just me who says this. So if you ever get a chance, please use them and let me know what you think😉

Smoked Paprika & Sumac Seared Salmon on a heap of cilantro-garlic labneh and salad-cucumbers, grapefruit, watermelon radish, lemon pickled onions, calamata olives, pomegranate seeds, and pine nuts dressed in olive oil, sea salt, grapefruit juice, honey, and sumac.
Inspired by a few new Middle-Eastern cookbooks I've acquired, my healthy bowl came together in about 20 minutes, the hardest part was blending a handful of cilantro, lemon juice, and garlic in my Magic Bullet, to flavour my labneh, which is arabic strained yogurt cheese. You can use plain Greek yogurt as a labneh alternate.
Having accepted that I'll never be a professional supermodel and only a pretend one in my head, my healthy eating is often followed by chocolaty consolation. Half an Aero bar was devoured after eating this delicious and light bowl of goodie-two-shoes food. A piece of the chocolate landed on my shirt, in an awkward spot, and has melted from the volcanic heat I emit at all times, which is also the sad reason why I can't pursue a professional career as a chocolatier. I'm not kidding. I actually went to classes to learn how to become one and my teacher basically told me not only should I not be a chocolate artisan, I should stay away from pottery and neurosurgery. It's possible I'm part dragon.

Speaking of refreshing, this summer squash zoodle hit the spot and is so quick and easy! Details below:
-2 yellow squash peeled and spiralized -2 cloves of garlic, minced -handfull of cherry tomatoes, sliced in half
-shrimp -spoonful of pesto -basil, s&p, crushed red pepper -olive oil
. >Heat shrimp with olive oil for about 3 min on each side on medium high heat. >Add all other ingredients, with a little more olive oil and stir 😋

Last night’s dinner: Cobb salad featuring mixed greens, heirloom tomatoes, bacon, avocado, jammy eggs, shredded chicken breast, and a warm bacon vinaigrette. Summer is for salads, y’all. 🙌🏼 Recipe via @bonappetitmag.
🍞Toast Love 💚
Top one: avo toast on flaxseed bread topped with almonds, pepitas, sesame seeds, and red chili flakes.
Bottom one: cream cheese, a little jalapeño, spinach, hot smoked salmon (with coconut aminos) and white cucumber.
Chicken Caprese over garlicky cauliflower rice. Once again I had to trick the hubby who is not a fan of a vegetable base anything! But that’s nothing I can’t fix with a little Magic Sauce. Chicken Caprese was the easy sell. This post is bit long but there’s a lot of tips to keep in your back pocket.
Garlicky Cauli Rice
In a sauce pan, heat some EVOO and a lot of minced garlic. Cook until softened. Add your Cauli, sprinkle with salt n peppa, stir and pat it down flat to cook. Leave alone for several minute increments cuz you want a nice toasty finish. Stir, flatten and wait again. Do this until you get your desired result.
Roasted Garlic Tomatoes
Throw them on a lined baking sheet with lots of minced garlic, drizzle with EVOO, sprinkle with salt n peppa. Toss to combine. Roast at 400 degrees until they pop and soft.
Chicken w/ Mozzarella
I always use cutlets otherwise I cut the breasts in half and pound them thin. Chicken just takes better this way, quicker to cook and almost fool proof. ***Vanilla Tip*** try to get chicken to be almost room temp. It makes for more even cooking throughout. Season liberally both sides w/ salt n peppa, dried oregano and garlic powder.
Heat EVOO or butter in a heavy bottom pan. Wait until it gets hot! Throw in a couple breasts at a time. Don’t overcrowd, you won’t get nice browned sides. When all chicken is done, put them all on a foil lined baking sheet and top with slices of mozzarella. Broil for about 5-7 min or until melty.
This is EVERYTHING!!!! Even if you can’t cook worth squat…. this will save you. Take the browned bottom of your pan that you cooked your chicken in and turn the heat to low/med and add about 1/3 - 1/2 Cup (or more) of white wine and or chicken stock. Stir and scrape up the brown bits and let simmer for a few min until slightly condensed. Look at my Bonetox hack story…. you’ll see!
Plate your rice, add the mozzarella chicken, top w/ fresh basil, pour the tomatoes on and drizzle magic sauce for the finish!
Ready to dive into this creamy pesto shrimp over zucchini noodles 🌱shrimp, basil pesto, cream, and zucchini is just all you need to make this one-pot meal ❤️.

If I told you to eat foods that make you drool, would you get upset? Would you start with a “no”, or “that can’t work…” and turn away, tune out? Why is that?
What is our culture doing to us? It both dismisses our inherent capacity for pleasure, and yet fillers for pleasure are sold and offered at every turn.
I’m not here saying you’ll find pleasure in anything I find pleasure in. Pleasure doesn’t work that way. But I can wonder if we all are allowing ourselves our authentic pleasures, especially when it comes to enjoying (any and all) food. What are the stories we’ve been told about how to approach our food? That each meal is a battle, with sides to win and sides to lose? That each plate is a landmine, full of pain and destruction?
What if instead, we were allowed to come back to our authentic pleasures? The ones less driven by anything outside of ourselves, and instead based on when we get really, really quiet. Is what makes you drool scary to you? Why is that? Have you been told that’s bad, or sad, or weak, or isolating?
Here’s the thing: if we could all drool a bit more, a function that happens in the rest and digest (parasympathetic) mode, what else could happen at the same time? It’s such a two-way street: allow yourself to drool, and your body will get the signal to do all its other housekeeping activities that it saves for being in that rest and digest mode. Be in that rest and digest mode more, and you’ll drool more readily. You can walk up and down and side to side on that street, you can take a nap and scream and cry and do nothing or everything on Drool Drive—because it’s for you, no one else. Has anyone let you remember you can do that? Or has our culture dissolved any memory of this natural right of yours? Why is that?

It’s Friday eve which means weekend begins tonight for me.
Dinner tonight is a sort of heathy Garlic & Chilli Prawns with WholeWheat Spaghetti 🍝 👩🏽🍳 Ingredients •150 grams raw prawns
•2 cloves chopped garlic (I use 3 because I 😍 garlic)
•1/2 tsp salt
•1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp ground cumin •1 tsp crushed chillies •1 tsp cumin •1/4 tsp balsamic glaze •1/2 tin chopped tomatoes
•150 grams spaghetti •Handful of chopped chives
1️⃣ Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan and add garlic and chillies 🌶
2️⃣ Give this a stir and just when it starts cooking add the prawns, salt, pepper & ground cumin. Let this cook for about 8 minutes and set aside
3️⃣ In a separate pan heat a tablespoon of oil and then add cumin. Give it a quick stir and as soon as it sizzles add the tomatoes 🍅
4️⃣ Let this simmer for at least 10 -15 minutes to ensure the tomatoes are cooked then add the prawns and balsamic glaze
5️⃣ Once this cooks for about 10 minutes on low heat so the ingredients combine add a handful of chopped chives
6️⃣ Boil spaghetti as per the instructions on the packet. I like to add a bit of oil and salt when boiling
7️⃣ Either combine the cooked spaghetti and prawns or plate one on top of the other📷
Garnish is you need to with more chives.
