Yesterday was not my final work day at @klattercentret_skane
overall, but it was my last day of working behind the reception! Even though the administrative responsibilities, educational aspects and office hours of being the head receptionist had their own kind of draw, my favorite part of this job was always about meeting the people, whether they were visitors, coworkers, beginners or regulars. Getting people excited about this sport, regardless if that meant helping them find their first pair of climbing shoes or simply serving them a cup of our world class coffee, always made my extroverted heart sing! These little but not so little meetings with people will always be treasured memories, as I approach the last week of work before my maternity leave.
But first - a long weekend of rest, church and a spa getaway with @meissner931
Bummed doesn’t begin to describe how it feels not being at @colorthecrag
right now. I am super stoked for everyone that could make it though, I hope it’s a rad time this weekend!
The end of this quarter is so close I can almost taste it (2 weeks OMG). Can’t wait for a free weekend to get back on some real rocks ⛰🧗🏾♀️🏕
As it turns out, being stuck between a rock and a hard place is a pretty rad place to be. Thanks to @ladylockoff
for the solid simul belay+photo and for bringing together a group of the most stoked climbers!
“Why do you seek out a challenging climb? Climbing achievements matter little in the grand scheme of things. They don’t create world peace, send your children through college, or even make you a “better” person. The learning that can take place in the process of your climbing achievements is what matters. Climbing can challenge you to the core, which is valuable and allows you to learn about yourself and expand your possibilities. You dig deep on a climb, gain self-knowledge, and apply that self-knowledge—that power—to any situation. If a climb you expected to be difficult proves to be easy and doesn’t challenge you, then it loses most of its benefit. Remember the importance of feeling challenged.” •

Hello, Instagram! I’m Katie, one of the new RCW #ambassadors
! I’ve been climbing for over 15 years, but in the last 3 have been traveling around the west pursuing it in a way I never had before. I finally decided to take the plunge into guiding, and have been working with @she_movesmountains
since March. This has opened up a whole new appreciation for climbing and what it means to different people. I love sharing my passion for the mountains and the simplicity of moving on rock. I love watching women from all over the country grow, learn, conquer fears and find strength inside they didn’t know they had. I couldn’t be more excited to grow with this badass community of women and get inspired by ladies near and far! •

Another successful Beta Babes trip in the books! It was a pleasure spending the weekend with such an amazing crew at the @heyflashfoxy

1/2 my first big swing. I’ll be honest- I only climbed up about 5 clips on top rope only to clean the route that @eekamonkey
climbed... and I took at every clip. Someday I’ll be strong enough to climb that route... but I wanted to take the swing. It was so much fun. Thank you so much @eekamonkey
for letting me do so and being a couple of the most amazing women ever. Also thanks Eva for the photo 😍
2/2 a variation of the photo compliments of my room mate Evan. Photoshop masta 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Pro tip: keep your nails short so that when you throw to a POS sloper and ram your fingers into the rock, you won’t break your fingernails off.
Staying positive with “at least I went for it” because I’ve been working on more static moves with longer reaches and just going for moves that I would normally over-analyse.
The 3 musketeers took on the Eastern Sierras for their first backpacking trip this Fall
P.S. there’s no chocolate to be found at the chocolate lakes 💛🏔 #OptOutside
Finally after all these years climbed to the top of The Thumb. 10 pitches + some spicy runout slab pitches made for an amazing top out of this beautiful buttress🏔 Such incredible views from the top!
I have three jobs, let me tell you about my favorite one. ✨
After wrapping up my first season with @she_movesmountains
, I couldn’t be more excited for the future. Every day guiding this season I’ve watched women learn and grow, connect with each other and find the freedom and power that make climbing so special to me. ✨
I’ve climbed since I was a teenager and been to the top of countless pitches. Every time a beginner reaches the anchor for the first time, or a woman successfully finishes her first lead, I get to share that experience over and over again. ✨
Teaching women how to be strong, self sufficient climbers and sharing my love for the mountains is a dream come true. I can’t wait to grow with this company and as a guide to take this dream to new heights.

Climbing is so communal and I have received some of my most treasured relationships via Climbing. My partner, some of my very closest friends,l and coworkers. I’m thankful for all the relationships and belaytionships Climbing has given me. Today’s special shout out is for @emerlybeth
Thanks for coming climbing with me, for all the catches and the spots. ❤️ You rock🧗🏻♀️ The sharp end isn’t so scary when you’re on the other side.

The fact that my bump is now officially bumping me off most walls makes me tremendously excited about little Bjorn joining us (!!!) I have a feeling this next month is going to feel extra long... 😅😍
I led my first 40 meter, 6b today in #telendos
(120 feet, 5.10d) with only one short take to find a hold. I’m calling it a “Flash Minus One” 😂😂😂 & then flashed the 6a next to it. (I’m the grey speck halfway up the wall.) IT WAS AWESOME! No way could have done it without the support of the ladies in the 2nd pic. @flymle @eekamonkey @lorraineciccarelli
brains, beauty, power!! Thank you, ladies!! 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾😍#jugsnotdrugs #flashminusone
Hey my name is @gaby_guyman
and I’m a new ambassador to the @rockclimbingwomen
team! I’m very excited to share my rock climbing images and experiences with all of you.
Climbing has been a passion of mine for many years and has served me in many ways: as a way to bring friends together, a means to be outside, and a conduit for physical and mental growth. Most notably, climbing has introduced me to a community and culture that resonates with my love for outdoor recreation and conservationism. •
The presence of women in the climbing world is nothing new. We have been kicking butt for a long time! However, the need for positive role models, encouragement, and empowerment never gets old. I’m excited to be a part of this social platform/community/team that strives to give women a bigger voice and a place in the outdoors. •
Follow along on some of my own adventures at @gaby_guyman
and stay tuned for more amazing work from the @rockclimbingwomen
team! #rockclimbingwomen #slaydies
1 hr of weights + 3 hrs of climbing = STRUGGLES! 😂😂
Weather is looking so good this week!!! Fingers crossed that it holds through the weekend and we can squeeze in a little climbing/scrambling/mountain running adventure🤞 It’s been too long since I’ve wandered among my favorite mountains. #takemeback #ileftmyheartinthenorthcascades
