"Strong is such a funny word because it is constantly evolving for me. Five years ago, I thought anyone who could run farther than a few miles or rock climb or reach a summit was strong. After working in this industry alongside so many amazing elite athletes, it’s easy to feel deflated when you compare yourself to some of them, BUT I’m actively working to change my perspective. I remind myself on a daily basis that strong is about trying hard and pushing yourself, and that goes for people of all athletic abilities. I want to climb a 5.12 in 2018. Would that be “strong” to a pro? Of course not, but for someone who struggled for years to reach 11s, a 12 sounds pretty damn good to me." - @abigailwise
Love #beaconofbadassery Abigail Wise's perspective on what it means to be strong! "For my first ever climbing vacation we went to Turkey (Geyikbayiri). It was an amazing experience to fill all day with climbing and to be immersed in a climbing community and paradise. While I was still super scared from falling on ropes (no matter if lead or top), I've always loved finding nice boulders to play on. This particular one was just behind our cabin and inviting us for a sunset-session. Keep crushing, girls, and thanks to everybody contributing to this wonderful community!" Thanks for sharing! #GWCMEMBER@katha_and_eitam

@xoxrandiballxox figuring out the beta for this stiff 10b at Alabama Hills last weekend with Mt. Whitney soaring in the distance as the sun sets behind the serene Sierra. What an awesome mini-climbing trip!
Tried this crazy V3 yesterday that was *all* volumes, nothing else! Props to the setters of these new problems @laboulders Going to have fun crushing this one soon enough. (Couldn’t complete it because a foot cramp did me in. Full day of heels before climbing isn’t always the best 😞). #browngirlsclimb#ladycrushers#girlswhoclimb

I’ve been living in Charlottesville, Virginia for the past 2 1/2ish years and the main thing that has kept me here is the community of friends I have... and how close I am to the New River Gorge. The climbing community here is full of strong, intelligent women and I get psyched to see brand new climbers come in and see these badass ladies trying hard and crushing. Hilary is one of those women. I had the privilege to see and hear her grow and push herself on a rope this year and it so rad. Happy Birthday Hilary. Cheers, to another year of crushing!! Here she is last spring causally flashing Hope Pathology at the New River Gorge.
GREEN GIRLSSS!! LADY CRUSHERSSSS!!! BADASS CHICKSS!! Tomorrow is Mondayyyy which means we will be at Cleveland Rock Gym at 6:30pm... if you’re looking to meet some rad chick and make new climbing pals we would love to “hang” with you. (Pun totally intended) Ask for @jessicarabbitcat or @jessicasuvak (Just ask for a Jessica always a Jessica around) We hope to grow this climbing group and support different gyms in Cleveland/Akron! Possibly eventually do a trip to different gyms out of our area orrr outside YAAASSS QUEENNS. •
Note: Cleveland Rock Gym gave us the Rock on 🤘🏻 to meet at the gym however we have to follow their safety rules. If you plan on top roping you have to get certified. (That doesn’t mean your friend teaching you) Depending on the group that attends maybe we can have a class for the girls who would want to learn. Yass learning is the best!!! Plus why wouldn’t you want to learn the safest way to take care of you and your friend while climbing! •

Early morning light on Time Wave Zero in El Potrero Chico with @kelso_woodso. 2300 feet of sport climbing through cacti, palm trees, succulents, and even flowers! Definitely earned the big beers and tacos.
J-tree you are simply one of a kind. You showed me what I need to work on mentally but, you showed me that I can do more than I thought. I feel so accomplied and proud of myself. 😌 Couldn't have done it though without awesome friends. 🙌 Hope to see you soon. 🌵#ladycrusher .
