Quality, Comfort and Attention to Detail * From start to finish your clients should never feel stinging, pulling, poking or tugging of the lashes or skin. The only thing they should feel are your palms resting lightly on their forehead. * Always double check if your clients eyes are open or not during lashing! Let them know that the adhesive will never get in their eyes but if their eyes are slightly open, they may feel a sting from the fumes. I like to use my gold lash mirror (dental mirror) to check. * Educate them about the importance of cleansing their lashes every night. I use TLC 3-in-1 Cleanser from @lashaffairbyjp on all my clients. Show them how to cleanse their lashes, so when they go home, they know what to do exactly. Give them a nice aftercare kit with brushes, etc. * Use lint free lash pads. They are soft, gentle, cooling + refreshing. You shouldn't use tape for the bottom lashes (unless, your client is allergic to a certain gel patch, you can definitely use soft medical tape for sensitive skin on your client). I use @lashaffairbyjp Hydrogel Pads because they are flexible and non sticky. They are great for lifting up top layer lashes for the hard to reach lashes on the bottom. * Your clients should feel comfortable & relaxed to the point where they can easily drift off. And at the end, use a nebulizer to cure the adhesive. Your clients eyes will feel refreshed when they wake up. * For more tips feel free to ask! #instasass_sf #lashaffairbyjparis
Some eyelashes fell out! My eyelashes seem sparse! Are my eyelashes being damaged? - As a Lash Artist it is very important to educate my clients about the anatomy of the lash line and its growth cycles. Even though it may not seem like it, every hair on our bodies have a growth cycle. It will grow to a specific length and eventually reach its full cycle, and then fall out. There are three phases to all hair cycles, even eyelashes. - 3 GROWTH PHASES - Anagen: (Active Growth Phase) the eyelash is still attached to the Dermal Papilla (blood supply). Lashes are growing and last about 4 to 6 weeks. - Catagen: (Transitional Phase) The eyelashes are fully grown, stops growing and the follicle shrinks. This last 2 to 3 weeks. - Telogen: (Resting Phase) this phase can last over 100 days before the eyelash falls out and releases from the follicle. - Our eyelashes are always continuously growing. Some lashes may take longer to grow in especially if you have interrupted the natural growth cycle in someway. For example, if you pull an eyelash out, you'll be without that eyelash for a while before it grows back. The lash has to finish its full growth cycle from Anagen to Telogen. Thus, potentially creating a less than full look for a while. This is why I stress to my clients that wearing mascara, sleeping on the lashes or wanting too long or thick lashes, can potentially weigh lashes down and get pulled out. - A lash growth serum can help support your lashes if prematurely pulled out. It helps nourish the hair follicle for stronger, longer lashes. #instasass_sf #lashcycle #educate
