This is our “Princess” Lavender, an Australian-bred Lavandula stoechas (Topped Lavender) variety with electric-pink flower heads. This is one of three Lavender varieties we grow in a particularly dry part of the garden. If you look closely enough in the second photograph you may see the more traditional Lavandula dentata (French Lavender) growing behind with it’s more purple flower. The word Lavender is thought to derive from the Latin word “lavare” meaning “to wash” and reflects the Romans’ use of the plant in baths, laundry waters and soaps. A practice which continues to this day. 💜 #princesslavender #lavandula #beefriendly #gardenflowers #lavenderflowers #beefriendlygarden #pinklavender #lavenderlove
I just learned today that we are supposed to run 12 miles on Saturday!! 😱
I thought our running group was tapering down before our 1/2 marathon in Nov 4th.
Excuse me while I begin pampering myself now and try to mentally prepare for my weekend. 😶
⭐️Last night was Battle of the Lotions. ⭐️
I could not decide which one to use. So I put lavender on one foot and the eucalyptus on the soul of the other, so my boys would reap the benefit of both oils. 🌈🌿💫
Head to website (in bio) to purchase these gorgeous lotions. Also available in lemon myrtle and rose geranium. 🌷🍋🌷🍋🌷🍋🌷🍋🌷
This is my little baby 💜
Lavender baths are a wonderful way to relax, cleanse and rejuvenate the body and spirit.
Lavender baths have healing qualities. Lavender can be used on any type of skin and is a anti-inflammatory, skin-regenerator, antifungal, anti- bacterial, deodorizer, analgesic, relaxing, helps prevent scars, helps boost the immunity system and it smells fabulous.
I'm a shower person, but I like lavender baths when I don't feel well or when I'm extra stressed and need renew my energy. I just mix the leaves with hot water, or drop them into the bath without following a recipe. (Kind of like I cook.)
Let’s try? You deserve it 🙏🏼
Maybe you've been wanting to ditch the toxic products you've unknowingly brought into your home, but it's just so overwhelming to walk away from what you've always known to work for you and worry about all the products you need to replace. Maybe you're hesitant and skeptical and have sworn to yourself you would never buy into the whole "organic", "non-gmo", "essential oils" gimmick.
Like everything else in life though, it's a process. Here's what convinced me to question the products that I used to use and dive into the world of clean living:
Our skin is our largest organ and whatever we put on it will soak into our bodies. The average woman applies about 80 chemicals to her body before breakfast daily through makeup, hair, and skin products. Let me repeat: before breakfast. These toxic chemicals include allergens, carcinogens (cancer causers), and hormone disrupters.
On the other side, I think we all know that if a skin or hair care bottle says "clean", "natural", or "organic" we can't 100% trust it on those labels alone. The personal care industry is one of the most unregulated in the US, as the FDA does not have to approve or test all the ingredients that go into your every day products. Companies can even omit certain ingredients from being listed on the label. If a product causes a reaction or injury to someone, the company it came from is not required to report it. I encourage you to download the app Think Dirty. You can scan the barcodes of the products you use at home and see on a scale of 0-10 how toxic they are.
I love Young Living because they give back to your health and your wallet. Because of their seed to seal promise, you can trust that their oils are the purest you can find on the market. They don't only have essential oils, but also beauty + hygiene, house cleaning, vitamin + supplement products and more! When you become a member you get 24% off of every product AND points that you can redeem for freebies when you sign up for essential rewards!
Making the switch doesn't have to be an overnight thing. Take one step at a time and slowly switch out what you can. Do your research and be aware of what you're bringing into your home. 🌿
Self care practices must start young. Tonight two tired little people started to feel all the feels, so self care strategies were offered & both jumped at the chance for a “special relaxing bath.” Relaxing bath blend: 1 cup of milk, 2 drops of Lavender Peace Essential Oil Blend, and a sprinkling of dried lavender added to a warm bath 💜
What a beautiful day for planting lavender babies. Only 350 more to go! 😯
