Today's Word of the Day: PRETEND (v.)
To pretend means to act like something is true when it isn't.
Example 1: The children were crawling around on the floor, pretending to be cats.
Example 2: Julie is pretending that she's not upset, but I think she's actually sad.

I can’t believe 2018 is almost over!
In December, I like to reflect ‘on’ the year and think about all that I’ve accomplished and how I can make the next year even better💪🏻 To ‘reflect on’ (something/past experiences) = to look at them once again thoughtfully.
Self-reflection is another great word, which means to think carefully about your own feelings and behaviour and the reasons behind your actions.
Do you take time to ‘self-reflect’ or ‘reflect on’ your past experiences? 🤔
I strongly believe doing this helps us grow and become better people.

This week's idiom is typically used when you're talking about something that is uncertain or unclear. Just think of balloons going up in the sky... and you've got a good hint 😉

⭐️Here's a simple but useful and creative exercise! Putting groups of words together in our mind helps us to remember new vocabulary, this exercise also helps us to write and speak in a more descriptive way. It's a technique that's often used with creative writing. ⠀
⭐️All you need to do is think of the words that come to mind when you see the word above, it can be individual words or some sentences like thoughts or poetry or experiences. Let the words flow out of you, don't overthink it!! ⠀
⭐️ We’ve decided to do a series in which we explore our associations with various countries, what comes to mind when you think of Australia? Here's an example: ⠀
⭐️ Australia: Kangaroos, tourism, koalas, the Outback, the Sydney Opera House, the Great Barrier Reef, diving, wildlife, travel, safe, expensive, visa, metropolitan cities. ⠀

Apparently in Canada🇨🇦, people leave jackets/coats they no longer need out in the streets for those in need to keep warm. @learn_english_with_susan
Could you confirm this fact, please?
I think this wonderful act of kindness🍀 is what we all should be thinking about- of helping others in small ways, in whatever way that we can. .
