Lebanese chicken and rice . Spiced ground beef and rice are served with toasted nuts and shredded juicy chicken 🤩 As you can see my chicken garnish fail 😂
1 whole chicken
300 grams minced meat
2 cups rice
2 crushed garlic
2 chopped onions
2 tbsp ouzai spice
1 tbsp cinnamon spice
1 tbsp seven spice
4 cups hot chicken broth
Black pepper & salt
Handful fried or roasted nuts
Method : 👩🏼🍳
1. Clean and wash chicken in your preferred way. Place whole chicken into a large pot with cold water enough to cover and add the following spices and vegetables: bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cardamom, cloves, whole black pepper, cardamom, salt carrots, celery, leeks & onion. Reserve the broth, you will use it to cook the rice in it. Remove the cooked chicken and set aside to cool, shred the breast into course chunks
2. Wash the rice and soak it in some water for 20 minutes then drain it, discard the water.
3. In a pan, sauté the chopped onions & garlic until translucent and add minced beef for 10 minutes & the spices . Add the rice, stirring for 2 minute.
5. Add hot chicken broth over the rice when boiling, cover the pan and set on very low heat for 30 minutes (I also put the round metal piece under the pan) .
Turn off the heat and allow to rest covered for further 10 minutes .
Arrange the rice on a serving platter. Top with the shredded chicken and sprinkle with the fried nuts
