Squats to depth, as we look to increase range of motion and development of movements in all aspects. Jess the other night took her squats to failure. (Rescued her👻🙌). Truly believe to progress your squat technique and to become more confident by failing with the safety bars and knowing how to get yourself out of a tricky situation can only benefit your performance long term.
This was the second back off set after hitting 2 sets of 5 to failure... we went for pause reps. help you build strength by diminishing or eliminating the benefits of the stretch reflex out of the hole, they will also build static, supportive strength in the lower back, hips and abs as we look to build a stronger Jess during this phase of training.🤙🤘🙌💪.

Aside from preparing the body for the activity ahead (RAMP method), a warm up can serve many purposes 🏃🏾♂️
It’s a good window to get some injury risk reduction work, essential mobility and corrective techniques in. Small doses that have a big impact ✅
I like to use the warm up to ‘switch on’ the client/ athlete mentally by using a reactive drill and to also gage their mood. Are they in a slump? Make the warm up fun. Is it early and they haven’t woken up yet? I find med ball slams are effective 💥👊🏾
Mobility, mini-bands and plyo’s appear in all my warm ups/ extended warm ups for the above reasons. The warm up sets the tone for the session ahead. Make it sharp and avoid wasting the first few exercises of the session ‘getting into it’ 🏋🏻♂️💥👍
