Lately I have been listening to topics about gut health. Spinach is good for this person but not this person Broccoli may work for you but not them Eat this instead of that. Then your micro biomes react to that and change and then you have to change what you eat again based on your micro biomes. Well in that case. I say eat everything Be diverse, eat every veggie, every meat, every fruit and fungus. Mix it up!

Shovel Deadlifts These were recommended by a friend as I am trying to strengthen my core after four babies. These required a ton of concentration for me and I honestly lost track of how many I did because I was concentrating so hard on keeping the barbell straight (and core engaged). Sometimes it's hard to "feel" my core so these forced me to really focus on that mind-muscle connection. I started with just a 10lb plate on one end of a regulation barbell then moved up to 25 (harder than it looks)! Never enough time in a day! However being a dad and always on the move, alot of people ask how do I juggle it all?! How do I stay on track with my goals with all that I have going on?! . . K.I.S.S = Keep It Simple Silly...I keep things simple where I can control them best. Making things complicated tends to throw me off course often so when i keep things simple and easy I tend to have better results. And In any of my goals the biggest thing that helped me stay on track and hit my goals whether adding size or losing body fat has always been my ability to stick to my meals! So for example I like to have my protien in my morning coffee I take to work so I dont miss breakfast and have a handle on my hunger (and it's bad to be hungry or miss quality protien for catabolic reasons). 2 scoops of Level-1 with a splash of heavy cream is perfect at 4:00 in the morning! I also pack some extra scoops just in case work tends to hold me up. It's better then eating out or eating something that wasnt planned. . . Things I also have for on the go moments: Canned chicken, Tuna, Veggies, Protien bar as well. All of these are easy to have, providing nutrients and hunger control! . . Also when it comes to sharing my meals (parents understand this very well) Making sure my Cubs are given great choices is just as important! So when we are out doing errands, shakes for the boys is just as good plus they enjoy it and makes me feel good knowing they are getting in quality meals. When it comes to goals, we have to be our own personal cheerleader. YOU have to want it bad enough for when times get tough, YOU have to pick yourself back up and YOU have to give yourself a pep talk. Because at the end of the day, no one really cares about what you achieve, besides you (and maybe your significant other). This is with anything in life, for me it’s in fitness and business. I have been letting the Holiday bug drag me down and have been really really giving myself a pep talk, like every hour of the day. 😩 Matt and I usually do a long run on Sunday’s, but it rained all morning. I so wanted to use this as an excuse to not do anything and I actually settled on that for an hour or so. Luckily, my inner cheerleader came out and said “girl, move your ass...you know you’ll feel better after it’s done. This will set you up for a good week. DO IT.” So here’s what we did in our garage yesterday morning. Full workout is on the last slide. Move Monday 💃🏾 I lift weights at minimum five days per week. Depending on how the spirit moves me sometimes six to seven! I teach Zumba six days per week. I try to give it a rest on Sunday but I love working out! I teach cardio kickboxing on Mondays. So let’s just say I move a lot a lot! 🕺🏾 Exercise has never been a struggle for me. Every day we’re plagued by new challenges that test us and make us want to throw in the towel. This last month has been one for the record books for me 📚 . . About a year ago, I put my condo up for sale, began looking for an apartment, and underwent a huge life change. It’s crazy to think it’s almost been a year and my apartment lease is coming to an end! I’ve been working nonstop with my long time Realtor to finally plant my roots and get back into a house. This has been a lot harder, and more stressful than I could have ever imagined 🤯 . . In the midst of this, I experienced my very first allergic reaction at work where I went into anaphylactic shock and required immediate medical attention. This reaction has completely messed me up inside and out! I have scoliosis, and the muscles around my spine have went completely haywire and I’ve been battling really bad back pain since my allergic reaction 🥴 . . Unfortunately, taking a break and sitting on the side lines is not an option, so I do what I can to stay to active and positive ☀️ . . When you want to growing more results from your fitness goals, you want to get out of the comfort zone by push hard everyday. . This is tough task to do training hard everyday for your strength and endurance. . You gonna to build each group of your muscles for more strength everyday. . You gonna to keep eating healthy foods everyday. . Read at least 10 pages of a book everyday while your body is recovering from what you train hard everyday. . Drinking water everyday. . The goal is always to be a little better than I was yesterday. 1% everyday means I’ll be 365% better by the end of the year. I like that math! . There are a lot of things that I’ve been working on to pursue the growth of Evolution Barbell. I’ve been working with a new gym management software to get a better grasp on my numbers. I’ve been in constant contact with the landlord and real estate agent of the space we’ll be moving into. I’ve also been working with a high quality gym equipment company to build the best floor plan possible for our new space. Come the new year we also will be implementing a new payment system that that will bring more consistency to the business as a whole. It’s been a lot! And this has all been going on since around March of this year. . Everyday I face new obstacles, new struggles, and new AHA moments. I’ve been learning everyday of this process along with being frustrated as hell. I’m confident however that one day all of these struggles and frustrations will be worth it in the end. I’m anxious to grow this thing and to have a positive impact on my community and change the way people view fitness and gyms in general. . #EvolutionBarbell #ConstantlyEvolving
