how to get around gym anxiety? happens to the very best 🤫 the days where you don’t want to walk through the big ol muscly men to a barbell, or when you just don’t want to walk into the gym at all.. I gotchu babe ✨ - grab a corner and smash a lil push day circuit, no frolicking around the gym required 💪🏼 - military press - press ups (hooo boi these twigs need work) - bench press into narrow grip bench press - pec flyes - tri plate press - I’m not gonna attempt to name these but oh my goodness gracious me these are SLEPT ON ow - HOWEVER, as much as we all have these days... there is nothing in the weights area or anywhere else in the gym for you to fear. you don’t have to go heavy, you don’t have to copy every girl on insta, and you don’t have to guess. grab a PT, ask them for a quick induction, quickly check your form, etc - everyone starts somewhere! the weights are as much yours as they are the wannabe Schwarzenegger’s next to you ✌🏼happy thursday loves 💕

You ARE capable....Ok let’s talk perseverance📈🧗🏼‍♀️ In all aspects. In the gym. In your schoolwork, career, etc. When things get hard, do you give up, or do you keep going? Do you let it beat you and end up forfeiting?🤷🏼‍♀️ Or do you not let any barrier keep you from reaching your goals? • I was thinking about this yesterday when completing a set of 15 reps of bicep curls. I was on rep 10 and was dying because I increased the weight this week. Part of me wanted to take a 5 second break and then finish the last 5 reps. I was tired, my muscles were aching. The lactic acid build up was REAL😱 • But then something happened in my mind where a switch flicked and I said “No, you have 5 more reps in you. Do them”💪🏼 • I sucked it up and finished those reps. I think that it’s in these moments where progress is really made. Struggle bus today. Tired. Sore. Didn’t feel like doing it. Leg day was brutal. (first half heavy weights/2nd hiit) Wanted to quit half way through... . But☝️ I drank my pre workout. Pushed play & did it anyway. Went heavier on weights. Modified when I needed. Kept going. Did my best. . No one ever said it was easy. If it were easy everyone would do it. Not too long ago I started to focus not just on visual goals but on functional goals. I stared different kind of push ups, chin ups and now.. pistol squats. They are soooo challenging but fun to do! Since my flexibility in my ankle joints are bad they are extra difficult! .....buuuutt focusing on goals that are functional makes is more fun to get through you’re workouts but it also takes the anxiety about how your body look, away. 💪🏻UPPERBODY 💪🏻 . Upperbody is part of my weakness. First, I’m not as strong as I want to be. I want to be able to do millions of pull ups and endless amounts of pushups but yeah. I can’t. I’m working on it. It’s progressing too slow for my liking though. Second, I haaaaaaate my upper body, visually. My back has fat rolls, my stomach has too, my arms. Everything. So I’m actually always trying to hide everything in t-shirts and long sleeves. But THIS was an exception. And it actually looks pretty cool. I need more confidence. RECOVERY DAY - IMPORTANT ❗ ❗ . If you have followed me for a while, you’ll know that I was a heavy girl a couple of years ago and since then I’ve been so scared of going back to that. It resulted in me spending hours and hours at the gym EVERY SINGLE DAY and no rest at all so it got to the point where I overloaded/overworked my self and didn’t get a break unless I was traveling - aka I reached a stand still in my workouts. So this recovery day with no lifting and no excessive calories burnt, is a huge step for me. But I’ve actually seen more results by removing the 6th and 7th lifting day and putting in a recovery day, than lifting everyday!! I still use my recovery/rest day at the gym. 25 min of sloooooow cardio and a loooooong ass session with foam rolling and stretching 🙆🏼‍♀️ or else I’ll go crazy 🤯 I’m working on my split.
