Happy Saturday! ❤️❤️ Today was upper body day! I realized last week that when I’m benching my heavy weight, I’ve been bouncing the bar off my chest to help push up. Today, I focused on controlling the entire movement! I benched 100lbs 3x3 without bouncing! Definitely struggled a bit more, but I guess that’s the point! Lol Feeling good and strong. 💪🏼

With any leg workout, it’s important that you push from your heels and keep the movements slow and controlled. This video is sped up but you should perform each exercise at a slow tempo. LEG DAY‼️‼️‼️ slight change in location😌 this leg day is glute and quad focused! I had very little rest time in between sets. Lately, I have been allowing myself very little rest time between sets and i have been loooving it. It keeps me focused and keeps the intensity high throughout my lift, you should try it out😊💪🏻 1️⃣ leg extension ss w/ 2️⃣ pulse lunges 3️⃣ squats ss w/ 4️⃣ jumping goblet squat 5️⃣ cable kicks backs without any assistance- I didn’t allow myself to lean on or hold onto anything because I wanted all of my stabilization to come from my standing leg (my standing leg was struggling🔥) 6️⃣ single leg hip thrusts (using leg extension) - I used a dumbbell to elevate my foot

BAND-ONLY BOOTY 🍑 (TAG A FRIEND & let’s DOUBLE TAP to support ya girl!) . one of my biggest frustrations with Insta lately is the sheer number of people trash talking lightweight or bodyweight workouts 🙇‍♀️. YES - of course - you need to gradually increase the difficulty of your workouts to continue making progress over time. However, two main arguments here: 1) if you’re just starting out - band / lightweight / or bodyweight workouts may be challenging for you and 2) even if you’re more advanced, by adjusting your rep tempo (the speed with which you move through each rep) / weight distribution / or rest periods, you can increase the difficulty of these exercises to be more in line with your strength level 👏. Not saying these are the only workouts advanced trainees should ever do in order to break powerlifting world records, but they’re not nearly as counterproductive as “evidence-based” keyboard warriors make em out to be 🤷‍♀️. Today I want you to especially focus on how slow & controlled I’m moving. This is KEY if you want these exercises to be effective. . THE WORKOUT: 1️⃣ eccentric-focus bridge 2️⃣ quadruped kickback 3️⃣ lateral step to stabilization 4️⃣ 5-3-1 squat (thanks to @bretcontreras1 for this one) 5️⃣ kickback w/ pause 6️⃣ lying abduction w/ pause (focus on keeping tension in the band + between your feet and the wall) . Mix up and add some challenge to your workouts by incorporating balance, throwing in the landmine, or using machines in new ways!💪 If your workouts are getting boring or a little stagnant, they are only like that because you are making them that way. Isn’t it so frustrating to be putting in the work at the gym & in the kitchen, yet STILL aren’t getting the results you want?! Here’s 3 reasons why you might not be reaching your fitness goals⬇️ - 1️⃣CALORIES/MACROS Just because you claim that you eat “healthy” food, doesn’t at allll mean that it’s magically going to give you a 6 pack! These foods still have calories, & unless you’re in a caloric DEFICIT, you aren’t going to see changes. The only way to actually know you’re in a caloric deficit is by tracking your food (& no, it’s not much of a challenge at all if these goals are actually your goals—you should feel EXCITED to be taking action towards what it is you want. That goes for everything in life). Try tracking some food for a week! You might be surprised on what you’re eating too much of, what you need more of, & how certain foods make you feel - 2️⃣YOUR WORKOUT STYLE Pick up those weights🏋🏻‍♀️ (no, it will NOT make you bulky girls). Did you know that excessive & high intensity cardio (running for long periods of time, sprints, HIIT, spin/cycling, etc.) burns not only fat but MUSCLE?!😳 Does your training style actually support what your goals are?? If you need help evaluating what it is you’re currently doing & need to know if it will aid in the achievement of your goals, let’s chat📩 - 3️⃣DISCIPLINE & CONSISTENCY Good things take TIME. DEADLIFTS🏋🏻‍♀️ My all time favorite when it comes to serious results & strength gains💪🏻 Plus, hitting new PR’s always hypes me up for at least a full week😂These recordings are not from my actual workouts so the weight is significantly lowered. When I train, that is my time to stay focused & stray from any sort of distractions, but I like to show you guys the things I do & hope to provide you with some value💗 . . Deadlifts are one of the most effective exercises bc they work the entire upper AND lower body, but PLEASE make sure you educate yourself on proper form👏🏻⬇️ 💥stand with mid-foot under barbell (conventional) or in a sumo stance for the sumo deadlift 💥hands are just outside your feet, standing at about hip width apart (conventional); hands are inside your feet with a wider stance (sumo) 💥shins should be touching the bar 💥shoulder blades rolled down & back & locked down into position to engage your lats 💥chin stays tucked 💥arms stay perpendicular to the floor 💥KEEP NEUTRAL BACK—do not pull the weight up using your back!!!! drive through your heels, push chest forward, & lock down your core . .
