Today we are traveling to NAMIBIA 🇳🇦// okay we aren’t really going to Africa but I gathered as many books as I could find (which wasn’t many), printed out some of @janbrettauthor
coloring sheets and thanks to our @letters.from.afar
we set off on an at home adventure to the sand dunes of Namibia. I love that books and stories can help transport us to places far away and ultimately add to my travel bucket list. // What is one place on your family travel bucket list? Currently the top ones on mine are Hawaii, Australia and New England..... and about 1000 other places.
A new line of curated baby essentials is coming soon. Follow us for more.
Happy Friday! This week has been very different for me with a lot of other exciting creative projects full of challenges 😳. Making has been in the air and ideas have been floating but I have to hold and wait a little longer before I can get on them.... such a pressure of london life and desire to keep things out there to rush this time- but I’m gonna hold...hold... hold... #handmadeclothing #slowfashion #newideas #space #growth
Let them be bold, quiet, happy, sad, and even angry. The range of emotions is like a painter’s palette. We can teach them how to use those colors and emotions to make something really beautiful. ❤️ @takeapicturelady
PLAY DOH - This stuff is my Go To activity when it’s too hot to go outside and they’ve already used up their 30 minute screen time quota for the day. It’s so diverse!! You can incorporate hundreds (maybe thousands?) of learning opportunities. My favourite is this - relief printing and creating a large-scale scene in collaboration with my kids. After it’s constructed we do imaginative play using characters that “live” in this environment. So. Much. Fun!! We always make our own play doh (the store bought stuff smells toxic) and that’s another fun learning opportunity in itself. I’ve recently discovered that Turmeric can be used to dye the doh a bright yellowy-orange! I’m keen to investigate other natural dyes too - any hot tips??? #playdohfun #makingourownfun #creativekids
Last nights escapees are enjoying a day in the paddock with Jester until their fencing is fixed 🐑
As parents, our efforts are about our children’s well-being ✨ One of The topic is the environment we are going to leave them 🌈🌿We try our best in choosing sustainable toys (like wooden toys, second hand toys etc) and, most of all, we always keep in mind that presence is better than present 😉♥️

The first of my four children that actually uses his crib ... well most the time! Last night I had Madden up unwell, and between him waking in pain and Sonny’s regular feeds I’m feeling it today! I don’t think one coffee will cut it ! When did your little one start sleeping through? Lucas began at one year old, Landon didn’t sleep through till he was four , and maddens 2 and a half years and I could count on my hand the amount of times he has ! Here’s hoping Sonny’s the first to sleep through before a year old! Wishful thinking 💭 .
Some weeks we are on and we days that are filled with morning baskets, workbooks, exploring, readings and tons of free time. Then there are weeks like this week where screentime dominates our day and we only get through morning baskets. The thing is that’s OKAY. Our weeks are flexible and learning never stops so there is always time for more planned activities and exploring. Some weeks we just need to lean into the challenges (we have had a few this week) and give ourselves the freedom to just be. // how do you manage “off” weeks?
A. has been very keen recently on doing dot-to-dot and maze activities. Still not keen on colouring in - ahw, bless him, but he loves collecting his favourite colouring in pages, especially the ones where are numbers or letters on. He is so keen on learning new things and I was very happy to see that his teacher gave him some things to do over the Christmas Break (we did ask for this as we took him 2 weeks out of school! 🙈). He loved learning about all the geometric forms even he was already familiar with most. His EY teacher gave us loads of sheets from @twinklresources
and I saw today the #twinklfridge #challenge
to get a month FREE description which would be absolutely amazing! I have been thinking of joining for quite some time and also found out they do GERMAN learning sheets too, so perfect for our #bilingual
journey. I also printed and laminated some “Loop writing skills”. Who would like to join us in a new adventure?! Also, can you spot my epic fail? 🤣🤣☺️ Clearly not using the laminator often enough.

In the tough moments today (We all know there will be a few!), let’s try something different!
Bees and Parents, picture this...
You’re standing in front of your little one and they are upset- They wanted the blue cup! They don’t want to put on their shoes! They want to go outside RIGHT NOW!
Are you with me?
Now, rather than get upset yourself, let’s shock them!
Let’s see what happens if we just stop and TWIRL!
You heard me!
In the midst of that rough patch, let’s shake it up and see what happens!
Whether you’re in the kitchen, the store, the playroom, or the front yard, let’s see if a little uninhibited, arms to the side, head back twirl session will diffuse even the hardest moment with your little one today.
Who knows, the tantrum might even end in giggles for you BOTH!

6 months of sweetness and a whole lot of love.
FOREST SCHOOL - Today was our first ever @little_seedpods
playgroup here in Brisbane. I only captured a few moments!! Our attendees for this round range in age from 1.5 to 11 (though the older kids will all be returning to school in another week). I had my kids with me so of course they were super clingy and needy 😂🙄 My youngest insisted I carry her everywhere! I’m really looking forward to seeing the progress she makes as she will come with me each week. Soon she’ll be an expert nature lover 🌏💗Registrations for next round are open. Message me for application information. #forestschoolleader #playgroup #somuchfun #35degreescelsius
This child has grown into such a thoughtful and attentive little human. Tonight we sat together and read a book I bought a while back and saved for her to grow into. It had to do with feelings, and their color association. At the end of the book it asked - how does your heart feel? To which she looked up at me and said - Mommy, you make my heart feel happy. I couldn’t help but say, my sweet girl - you’re the reason my heart is happy too. #willastone
This adventure has given me a lot of things, but today I’m most grateful for it giving me this boy.
Yes, he’s always been a happy and sweet boy, but these travels have amplified his personality.
A week ago we were driving over a hill and just as we came to the peak, I heard him whisper to himself ‘my heart is so happy.’ I’m literally tearing up right now just replaying that moment. He was hesitant for this trip... Worried about losing his cat. Scared that his dog will run away. Unsure about the places we planned to visit, but seeing him look out the window and whisper that to myself... Experiencing that moment with him, when he wasn’t saying it for attention, but instead Just overcome with emotion. Dang, that felt good and that is why we are doing this.
Then, as we drove in to San Diego he quietly said ‘I bet this is what paradise looks like.’ Bless him.
He’s climbed rocks and dug in sand. He’s swam and biked.
He’s laughed. A. Lot.
He’s asked questions he’s never asked before.
He’s had a new desire to learn and my favorite... Have his voice be heard.
I’ve learned so much about him in this short time and I am so proud that he’s felt bold enough to come out of his shell and try new things. I’ve realized the things he needs to feel safe, like being able to know how many hours until we arrive or having the GPS screen visible from his seat. Or maybe something as simple as showing him a picture of the landscape we are about to visit. All of it, it’s teaching me to meet him. To meet personalities like him. Those that need stability but also crave adventure. Those that will move mountains, but need to know how to get there first.
He’s been very challenged with his trip and hearing that those challenges didn’t break him, but instead strengthened him, makes me so incredibly grateful for these past 8 months of living tiny so we can live large.
Chalk is a staple in our house. My girls have invented so many ways to use and play with it - I’m constantly amazed! Often it involves smashing the chalk down to form a fine powder which is then used in all sorts of potions and “food” for the chickens or us. This time they did some gorgeous leaf drawings pretty self directed. All I did was suggest they draw it (after they picked them for umbrellas). We had to buy more chalk yesterday and now they’re at it again!! What’s your staple play material? #creativekids #chalk #upsince5am #freerangechildhood
Temple visit with our friend and neighbour 16 year old Kadir to his family temple
At this temple to the forest god people have statues made to represent prayers that were answered. Many of these were for children.
I love this quote. I've always been a very strong character, driven and determined. Now I'm where I am in life I can reflect back with love and respect for my parents and the advice, support and nurture they gave me, allowing me to be free and to be me.
Now I'm a parent I can understand that we are here to provide a helping hand, to advise, to empower, love, support our children. But who they are and what they become is entirely up to them. It's incredible to watch my boy develop, im in awe, and I look forward so much to seeing who he becomes, watching him as he flourishes in life.
But there us still a part of me that wants to wrap him in my arms and never let go.

Not going to lie... I totally thought Saguaro National Park wouldn’t be worth seeing. Come on... A cactus is its iconic feature.
These beasts are no joke. I found myself in awe and so grateful we slowed down on our travels today.
After a change of plans we had a couple of fast travel days and that got me thinking... There are many different ways people ‘count’ visiting a state... They drive through it.
The use the toilet in that state.
Make a memory.
Have an experience.
Do ‘the deed’.
Eat a meal.
So, what is the requirement for you to check a state off your list?
