Before January ends, let me say it one more time "Happy New Year"! Now that it has been said, lets get down to business. If you read my blog in 2018, you might have come across one that said "10 tips to write a killer bio". Well guess what, it is time for an update! That's right, it is a new year and bios are not static. Today, I updated my biography. As a Speaker, Author and Consultant it is important to review and update my long version every 6-12 months. I am ready to share my new accomplishments. If your long version is up-to-date, it’s easy to revise the shorter versions.Yes, bios are a professional summary but there’s nothing wrong with infusing a little personality. Include a professional headshot. Mention your hobbies. Provide your contact information so the audience/readers know how to get in touch with you. Give people a sense of who you are as a human.
Here is a copy of mine below. Take some time and update your bio, profile descriptions and headshots too. Try to keep your information as up to date as possible, and headshots from 10 years ago are not allowed!
