Still reeling over the Bay- what a place for fresh food, artsy vibes & sunny dayz. Plus ❤️this neat natural wine shop @minimowine in Oakland and on the way there I passed an umami shop (!?) p.s. translation: nothing chemical just Abruzzese red wine from indigenous grapes off 40 year old vines and spontaneous fermentation 🍇🍷😜🎉#oaklandia
TGIF! The hardest decision I make this weekend will be, red or white? 🍷 ———— Al fin viernes! Este fin, la única decisión que quiero hacer es entre vino tinto o blanco 😝

KILLER TOFU /// Checking out Proxi for the first time. They’ve got a beautiful bar with some delicious bites, a super friendly and attentive bar staff, and some fantastic drinks. This was our favorite of the night made with beet infused tequila, Cocchi Americano, agave, lemon and nori salt. We will be back for sure.
EUROPEANS IN THE TROPICS
A Negroni riff with toasted coconut washed gin and a coffee ice cube. Another must try.
REVIVE AND RECOVER

I had a couple of leftover bananas that needed to become banana bread or a smoothie. I turned them into a homemade banana liqueur. Tonight, for #thismightgetweirdbro , that liqueur became a bananas foster inspired flip cocktail. And yes, I grated fresh cinnamon on top and sprinkled a lil brown sugar. I need about 5 more.
In a cobbler shaker:
Two lemon peels
30 ml Vodka From the Freezer @chdistillery
15 ml Orange Dry Curacao @pierreferrandcognac
30 ml Cranberry Juice
10 ml Lime Juice
5 ml Simple Syrup
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled coupe
Garnish with a lime twist.
“Yes, I'd like a cheeseburger, please, large fries and a cosmopolitan.” -#CarrieBradshaw
This next drink for whatever reason gets bartenders in more of a tizzy than the Mojito. If you can learn how to balance a Cosmopolitan you can make anything. Another hazy history drink and I would rather not toss my hat in the ring on where it came from or from whose hands crafted it first but I will tell you this: when someone asks for one use my recipe and just knock their socks off. They’ll come back tomorrow. The original recipe calls for citrus vodka which (not to be snobby but) I never have laying around behind the bar at work or home. Instead I cut back the vodka and add some sugar (flavored stuff is usually sweeter and lower proof) and lemon peel. This drink will always be around thanks to its popularity on television📺. ----------
I'll doodle...You drink! If you mix up any of my #CocktailDoodle posts let me know! More on the way and some of my original drinks once I get through these oh so important classics!

Cheers to the weekend! 🍸 We’re here stirring things up with @herbandlous ! Though I’m not much of a vodka drinker, I’ve been loving pairing The Clyde (peach cosmopolitan with Benedictine inspired herbs & artisanal bitters) with a shot of vodka! #herbandlous#ad

Fog Cutter 🚨 on 🔥🔥🔥 #Repost 📷 @migsology
There's just something about fire (and cinnamon) that makes tiki so magical 🔥
The Fog Cutter is a classic tiki drink and one that gets riffed on over and over. While looking through my old archives I came across a post by @liquorary and his interest with gin in tiki. In particular, the Fog Cutter of @lostlaketiki had just been featured in @imbibe magazine. This particular riff is so insanely delicate and well balanced - I took a few artistic liberties with the gin, orange liqueur, and sherry that I used but I think it really helped brighten it up and bring out the nutty flavors. Oh, and I lit mine on fire cuz it's fun 🔥❄️🔥❄️
1 oz El Dorado 5 year Rum
1 oz Tanqueray No 10 Gin
1 oz Pierre Ferrand 1840 Cognac
2 oz lime juice
1 oz Homemade orgeat
0.5 oz Lustau East India Sherry
0.5 oz Homemade Blood Orange Liqueur
0.5 oz Cinnamon syrup
1 dash Angostura bitters
Shake with crushed ice and dump into tiki mug; top with more crushed ice, lime half and flame it up 🔥🔥🔥
Reshot a few of our older cocktails last weekend, and this is one! And trust us, it looks a lot better than the old pictures!
It’s a refreshing combo of grapefruit juice, vodka, @stgermaindrinks elderflower liquor and cranberry simple syrup!
Cheers to new pictures of classic cocktails!

If you’re new to the home bar game, then one of the first things you need to learn about is ice. It’s arguably the most important ingredient in your cocktail.
Ice can absorb and impart different flavors, so be mindful of what you store in your freezer with it. Foggy/clouded ice is full of air and impurities and tends to melt much faster, which will then dilute your drink quicker (also those weird “half-moons” your freezer makes tend to taste kinda funky.)
It takes a little work but making clear ice for cocktails is the best way to go. Not only does it look pretty but it melts much slower; providing more “chill” ❄️ and less dilution.
If you want more specific info on how to make clear ice at home, just DM me and I’ll walk you through it 💪🏼 Also, check out @holycityhandcraft for more clear ice inspiration and #ClearIceWeek 💎
Tonight’s #ClearIceWeek picture comes from @earleshousecocktails — check out these DIAMONDS and make sure to stop by his page to find some equally sexy pictures of cocktails (along with recipes). Happy #Friyay y’all! Keep those ice pics coming!
💎All right STOP… collaborate and listen
Obsessed with clear ice? Welp if you haven’t checked out the homie @holycityhandcraft it’s time to follow him ASAP. Miguel has some of the absolute best ice game around so when he launched the #ClearIceWeek challenge I knew I had to get in on the action. For me there’s almost nothing better than a classic negroni poured over nice big rock finished with an orange twist. What’s your favorite drink to sip over a big ol’ slab of ice?

An extremely heavily peated expression from the Bruichladdich distillery in Islay, this 5-year-aged bottling is peated to an intense 208 ppm. Once the smoke clears, this dram is chock full of leather, hay, and butterscotch. Just $12 for a 1.5 oz pour while it lasts!

Kicked off the weekend with happy hour at @kulture_houston and the Mahogany 75 was my favorite part. In the words of the bartender: “It’s crisp, elegant, and strong—just like the women who birthed our culture.” More deets in my insta-story!
