In this day and age, it is almost impossible to get through a week without hearing about another medical negligence case in the media. Whether it is the latest accusation being thrown at a junior doctor who is over-worked and trying to do their best in a high pressure situation which is under-resourced, or the most recent tale of a person dying in the arms of a loved one in what could have been a preventable death, these cases tug at our heart-strings in a myriad of ways.
Whoever you are, medical negligence cases make us all feel at least a little bit uncomfortable. *And it should.*
The healthcare service in Ghana is approaching a crossroads. With the volume of reported cases rising in tandem with the public outcry for justice and accountability from healthcare professionals and medical institutions, we know something has to change. Perhaps it's about time we talked about medical negligence.
Whether you are a healthcare provider, commissioner, lawyer, volunteer or interested member of the public, we want you to join us on Saturday 13th October 2018 for our Annual Conference in Liverpool. Come and take part in this debate and make your voice heard. Together, we can make a difference.
