Jurgen Klopp has eased serious fears over a lengthy injury absence for Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk.
Van Dijk was substituted 10 minutes into the second half of the Reds' 3-0 Premier League win over Southampton at Anfield on Saturday.
The centre-back was caught by Saints striker Shane Long a few moments earlier, and having shown clear signs of discomfort he eventually dropped to the field before being replaced by Joe Gomez.
However, Klopp is confident the problem is nothing serious.
“He had already before the PSG game a bruise on his ribs which is very uncomfortable, and today had another hit there,” said the Reds boss. "It's not cool, but it should not be too serious. He said he couldn't shout anymore, and that's obviously 60% less his level!
He should be absolutely okay, hopefully. I didn't hear anything different.”
