Best place to sit outside with a cup of coffee in the morning.
The quilt of my dreams (handmade by my husband’s grandmother), snow on the ground (ice called for a snow day), and the burning bush leaves outside my window. I am in my happy place.
New plant, new (secondhand) book and old favourite eye necklace 🌟🌹
Words of wisdom from David Foster Wallace.
Newish post at the link in my bio: 3 Profound Life Lessons from “This is Water” by David Foster Wallace.
Parts are here, so we're in the process of reassembling the engine and putting it back in. As soon as this bus is running, we're outta here! Somehow it's already November and we haven't put this girl in storage yet so we can start diving into boat refit. Link in bio, find out if we were successful!#enginework #valveadjustment #type4
Sleet and rain and ice. I have a hard time appreciating colder weather unless it's picturesque scenery. But there is beauty in the harshness and and cold. 🌿
3 LAWS OF GOOD NUTRITION by @magendavidfitness
There is TONS of conflicting and confusing nutrition information in the world today. It can be hard to know what you NEED to do.
These simple and easy to follow laws are the secret behind successful diets of all kinds. If you can learn to follow them you will be lean, healthy and full of energy in no time.
1. Eat Slowly Until Satisfied
Overeating is the root cause of excess calories and therefore excess fat.
Extreme diets will make you measure your food or your calories. Then you starve yourself once your "portion" is finished.
Successful diets find ways to slow you down so you can feel you body's natural cues. This can be done explicitly (telling you to slow down) or unconsciously, usually by food selection. What can you eat faster a peice of cake or a apple?
2. Remove Nutrient Deficiencies
You body needs 2 types of nutrients Macro (BIG) and Micro (small). Lacking any of them will affect how you body functions. You can turn off you metabolism (calorie burning) by not getting enough vitamins and minerals (two examples of micronutrients)
Most people (even athletes) are deficient in something. Common culprits are Protien, Iron, and Vitamins A,C or D
Focusing on Nutrient Dense Food, and a wide variety is the trick. Fruits, Veggies and Whole foods are all very nutrient dense.
Additionally anything that you are intolerant or allergic to will affect your absorption. Make sure to stay away from these.
3. Recovery From The Stress Of Life
If you don't recover your body can't use nutrients effectively.
These means Sleeping 7-9 hours a night. Not doing to much intense exercise. And coping with stress from work, family, etc.
You need recovery activities to help you destress such as mediation, stretching and talking with a friend. -
All successful diets, that people can stick to for the long haul, help you follow these laws in some way.
If someone you know could benefit from this, then send them here.

A week ago before the floods came. I’m being dramatic but the rain just doesn’t seem to want to stop. Poor chickens are wet and muddy and we’ve since tarped the coop! Hot oatmeal coming up because I like to spoil them 🐓🐓

The Nirvana room at MoPop took me back to high school. I will never forget the day Curt Cobain died. Nirvana was blowing up then and we could all relate to their music. It spoke to us. I spent more time in this room then I would have anticipated. His voice and his pain is unlike anything I had ever heard before and nothing like we have heard since. What is your favorite Nirvana song?
I think this product has my favourite drape around the neck. Made with 100% Geelong lambswool spun in Yorkshire. Thinking about producing this as a jumper, what do you think?
My name has changed again and will continue to change until I find something I feel. Like I said, always changing...Always. It's a powerful thing. 🌹 l
Day 4 of just the 3 of us and still trying to figure out the ⚖️ Noah was so used to having us all to himself and the guilt hit me today that I wasn’t giving him enough attention. Thankful we have a park in our estate that he can get a run around until his Mama is fully healed and driving again and we can get out and about properly 🚗 #mumguilt #csectionrecovery #lostwithoutmywheels #dayatatime #honestmotherhood
I’m a total believer in the whole “have nothing in your home that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful”
I’m always wishing I were a minimalist (for the Cleaning) but also love my eclectic style.
So I’m on board with this gorgeous display I found whilst scrolling the abyss of @pinterest

Total inspo 🙌🏼✨
It was put to me that Minimal eclectic should definitely be a thing 😜 so I’m rolling with that .

Yoga and meditation have become my happy place, it's like a mini vacation for the mind, body and soul.
I spent the past weekend at a silent yoga retreat, it was exactly what my mind and body needed. We spent most of the weekend doing yoga and meditating, a lot of the activities allowed us to go within ourselves and reflect.
This past weekend was about clearing my mind and body of toxic energy, learning how to let go and finding my center. We are often surrounded by so much external noise that we neglect our internal voice, being surrounded by nature allowed me to tune into my intuition. Love and light 🍃
Slower starts ☕ Finally getting the hang of even, straight rows, slowly but surely.

No one is going to stand up at your funeral and say, “She had a really expensive couch and great shoes." (But picturing us talking about each other like this does make me laugh...) Don’t make life about stuff.
I hope they stand up at mine and say “she was such a kind human and DAMN was she funny, just the funniest I’ve ever met!” And I don’t need any stuff to be any of that - something I remind myself of often when I get roped into #thatstufflife
every now and again.
What do you hope they say about you? #thatnostufflife

Emidio and other children being served breakfast at a Compassion Center, a safe oasis amid a rough neighborhood, where he is free to learn and play, and is fed. The past couple of weeks I have been showing you the neighborhood, and it’s people, that surround the life of a young 8 year old little boy living in a difficult neighborhood in northeastern Brazil. These next several weeks will be a “day in the life” type of photo essay about that little boy. His name is Emidio. He is about the same age as I was when I was adopted by an American family. An event that saw my life moved from Korea to America. From an orphanage to a home. From being an orphan to having parents once again. As difficult and challenging as Emidio‘s life is, like many children the world over in similarly difficult circumstances, he regularly still finds resilience from a crushing cynicism and despair that would be all too understandable. In spite of his poverty and the injustice of that, he daily finds joy and reasons to laugh and even to be playfully mischievous. His ferocious desire to learn (something many children around the world are denied) fuels his dreams and hopes. @Compassion
International has interceded and is helping to give him and millions of other children like him a chance to realize their dreams and hopes for a better and more just life. I was privileged to be able to help tell the story of a child’s life slowly coming out from the weight of hopelessness. It was difficult while documenting this boy’s life not to draw some parallels with my own personal story from poverty to possibilities, but that is a different story for another time. This story, is Emidios. His family lives in a home that I estimate is no larger than something like 9’ x 6’ in its entirety. I’m 6’2” and I could barely lay flat without always hitting a wall.
Already thinking about the weekend? Us too. 😅 Throw some funky patterns together for an unexpected vibe!
