I want to share an experience I had with this child of mine. I’ve shared it maybe three times in my life and it’s a hard one for me. But, I believe it’s important and was a personal wake up call.
It was this time of year, two years ago. Seven year old Ella looked at me and asked, “Mom, do you have to work on Christmas?!” I quickly answered of course not... then the hard part came. “Oh good....because last year, you had to work on Christmas. You didn’t even get to watch us open any of our presents and I was so sad.”
Number one- that was a big fat lie. My first reaction was anger. Didn’t she know all the time I had spent buying and wrapping her gifts? How could she not understand the role I played in everything that had to do with Christmas????! I wanted to fire back and say exactly how I felt. I wanted to spill all the beans and tell her how ungrateful she was.
But, in that moment...as hard as it was, I took a step back. I realized that “her reality” mattered. I recognized how busy I had been over the last few years and that clearly it was affecting her in some way. Being a working mom in SO tricky(lets chat more on that soon!) but I realized I needed to learn something.
“I’m so sorry you think I wasn’t there for Christmas, but I want you to know I was. I watched you open that cute little baby doll and eat all the candy from your stocking. I was there and I would never miss Christmas for anything.” I swallowed my pride and that was my response instead.
In that moment I knew I had to make changes. I have worked really hard to make some of them and am constantly working on others. I believe my example of hard work and following my passions is and has been a good example to them, but I also believe in boundaries. I had to learn to set those. I need my kids to know I have them. So do you. Sometimes it takes a child, friend, spouse to stop us on a path that needs some adjustment. It’s us that has to be open to the “criticism”.
If you find yourself in a similar place, I hope you know you’re not alone. But, more than that, I hope you know you can make a change. Let’s all “take the day off for Christmas” this year😉❤️😘

The girl on the left was self-conscious, hiding instead from being diagnosed with a heart condition, uncomfortable, and upset with herself. She had no workout routine and ate whatever she wanted. She tried multiple different diets and workouts, but gave up because she didn’t believe in herself.
Fast forward to 3 years later!
The girl on the right is confident, happy, loving life, proud, and determined to never give up on herself! She has created a healthy lifestyle she loves. She workouts 30 minutes a day and still enjoys her favorite foods in moderation! She believes in herself and created a life that she loves!
You can do it too, you just have to believe in yourself. ❤️
Life throws some crazy ass curveballs. 💣 The short of it? I’m having surgery on Thursday. 😳 The long of it... this is why I’ve been sick so friggin nonstop the last 1+ year. My nose, sinuses, all of it are pretty messed up, not gonna lie. They ruled my CT scan “interesting,” promptly followed by “you don’t want your CT to be interesting.” Awesome. The good news is that I’m getting it all fixed and by one of the best doctors in the metro. And I have health insurance! So I’m thankful.
I'm having surgery this Thursday morning. 😖 I know this is nothing in the grand scheme and so many are going through so much worse. But I can't help that I'm completely freaked the fuck out and terrified.
There are a slough of modifications I have to make leading up to Thursday and I won't be able to workout for about 2 weeks after.
I'm self-sabotaging like it's going out of style. 💁♀️ I want to eat allllll the things. Had RAMEN today. GROSS. Like, wtf??! Then someone in my bootcamp said “It’s not self-sabotage, it’s just how you are coping during this stressful time. Do what you need to do to get through this difficult time. Be kind to yourself” (shout out to Nate!). This helped me sooo much. I was afraid it’d give me permission to keep being out of control but it was exactly what I needed to hear to shatter the cycle.
The moral of the story is... nutrition is gonna be KEY AF these next few weeks. And we have 4 weeks until prep for the new January program... the biggest launch in company history. I neeeed more bootcamp friends... who doesn’t need this kind of support, encouragement, REALNESS, and motivation? Preference given to everyone who applies through Wednesday at 8 pm CT. 😬 Link in bio.

While we hear this all the time, it really touched my heart and my soul. Really, think about the meaning of it. Truly everyday is a blessing. How essential it is for us to keep this in mind, in our journey, especially in the midst of anxiety, conflicts and other obstacles that life may bring, still everyday is a blessing. Sometimes challenges are necessary for us to mature and understand the bigger picture of life. And later those challenges become a conduit for us to find our purpose and help others.
As we exercise this mindset, we will soon find ourselves tackle life in a more creative and positive way and such positive mind will nourish our body in such a powerful way that we’ve never imagined before!
Let’s not take each day for granted, because everyday is truly a BLESSING!

Before this weekend we both had never snowboarded! I could have stayed in my comfort zone and just went skiing the whole vacation, but what is the fun of that? Why not try something new?
The worse that could happen is I hate it and don’t do it again, but that didn’t happen! I LOVED IT!
I am so thankful for the strength and endurance I have gained from at home workouts! I got out there and tried something new and really enjoyed it! Yeah I fell a handful of time, but I didn’t let that stop me!
Are you letting the fear of falling and failing at something hold you back? I dare you to try something new! You might just figure out you love it!
Many people get this wrong. People say that you get rich and switch and you're too good for them now.
But why stay in a position that did nothing for you other than kept you broke and miserable?

Happy Saturday! You know, sometimes I think people can get so caught up in trying to avoid feeling the negatives. Myself included. .
We’re so terrified of the darkness, not just in the world, but in ourselves. Oddly enough, I’ve found such strength and joy in the adverse moments of my life. .
Sure, maybe they weren’t perfect. After all, nobody likes being broke, experiencing loss, growing up, losing a job or dealing with a breakup. Any number of unfortunate events are typically not fun, but the next time something shitty happens, perhaps we should lean into it. .
It’s something I’m trying to do with anxiety and resistance I experience in my daily life. I don’t feel like working out? Doing it anyway in spite of how I feel and letting myself feel it without obstructing my goals. Feeling anxiety? Cool, let me really feel that shit lol. .
Maybe it’s not for everyone, but I have always found that the darkness is before the dawn. .
So break, bend, shape yourself, create the life you want, and become the person you most want to be in this life. It’s never too late to give yourself the life you want and deserve. .
I remember the days I wished for what I have now. And this is just the beginning.

Nuts & seeds are an amazing source of healthy fats and minerals! They are satiating, have a variety of flavour and are extremely versatile. If you’re like me and don’t consume dairy, then your diet may be quite saturated with nut and seed products. One way to ensure you’re supporting your digestion is by soaking your nuts & seeds. This helps break down phytic acid making it easy to digest and assimilate in our sensitive GI tract!
One way to soak your nuts:
❂ Cover fully in water
❂ Add 1-2 tbs of unrefined salt
❂ Leave overnight on the counter or fridge (7 + hrs will do!)
❂ Rid the moisture in a dehydrator or in the oven on low (150F) for 12hrs
• If moisture is not removed store in the fridge and consume within 24hrs!

I am not on this journey because I do it perfectly. I am not on this journey because I don't make mistakes. I am definitely not on this journey because I don't have cravings and slip up sometimes.
I am on this journey because I know I can take better care of myself and I believe in my ability to do so. Do I have all the resources for this journey? No I don't but I have come a far way simply by believing it's possible.
If I was waiting for the perfect time to start.....I would still be waiting. My salary didn't change, I didn't get more time in the day, My assigned tasks didn't decrease; I still have the samethings but I made a decision to start and make the necessary changes as much as I can along the way.
I made this video and posted it on my stories (this is just a snippet) because I interact with a lot of people who think I am perfect where my diet and overall journey is concerned. I am not perfect! I still have days when I crave things I shouldn't, I get tired sometimes when I don't stick to my schedule and I do need to refuel at times.
The only thing is I learn to deal with my cravings better with time.
I am not doing this because it is easy. It is hard! You have to make the conscious effort to change but when you start be sure to take your time and take breaks when u feel your body needs it. Please don't feel like you need to be perfect for anyone. Do this for you. Embark on this journey to change your lifestyle because you think it is important and not because u want to please anyone.

A mindful morning sets you up for a mindful day. Six years ago I was being dragged out of bed by toddlers demanding waffles, one wanting Dora turned on and a hungry newborn. From the minute they woke up, they needed me. I didn’t realize how it was affecting me until the day I decided to wake up before them. A few of my good friends all bought gym passes and we committed to a 5 am work out. It did not take me long at ALL to realize the benefits for me personally. I had TIME for myself. I could wake up, do my thing and after a couple of hours take care of all my kids' needs. I was so much happier and I’ve never been willing to give that time up. . Here are my five tips for a more mindful morning...
Wake up in enough time to spend one hour for yourself before you have to take care of others. I can’t preach this enough and swear it will make ALL the difference in your day.
Make a list of the things you need to accomplish in the day. Most important first. Be realistic with your expectations of yourself.
Remind yourself of the things you are grateful for. I read somewhere that it’s impossible to feel anxious and grateful at the same time. I have loved reminding myself of that often.
Move your body! It can be anything. Find something you love doing and do it daily!
Fuel your body. I like to drink half of my @officialpureprotein
shakes on the way to workout and the other half on the drive home. These NEW chocolate shakes are DELISH! I focus a lot on Social Anxiety Disorder in my work, but another interest of mine is how people struggle with being authentic.
These are two different things.
Overcoming Social Anxiety Disorder is ultimately about learning how to stop avoiding the social situations that cause a high level of anxiety…Learning how to “show up” despite feeling incredibly anxious.
But, just because you stop a pattern of avoidance, it doesn’t mean you’re necessarily “showing up” in life as your true self.
That’s the authenticity piece.
You might struggle with one or both of these issues, but knowing the difference can help clarify where to focus your self-work.
Are you avoiding social situations because you’re afraid of what people might think of you?
Are you showing up in your life, but rarely feeling like you’re putting the REAL YOU out there?
When life throws you an opportunity do you fear the problems it might bring or do you look forward to the growth you will receive? 🧐⠀
These two lights of my life were the best opportunity that I said YES to in my life. 💗⠀
Their daddy told me he had two kids from a previous relationship in the beginning of our journey together.⠀
I realized at 19 that I had a decision to make: to either say yes to someone who had a little extra to work with or to say no and move on with my life not knowing how things could’ve turned out. ⠀
I made the decision to say yes, to jump on the biggest rollercoaster of my life (mind you of the fact that I am DEATHLY afraid of rollercoasters) and it has given me the biggest opportunity to grow in love and understanding in my life. ☺️⠀
No, it wasn’t always easy. Yes Steven and I fought a lot in the beginning because I had to learn how to help him raise two little kiddos that were below the age of 2 in a short amount of time and somehow make things work.⠀
And make it work we did. We became a team. We became a family. We became stronger together.⠀
I’m telling you this because maybe there is an opportunity that you’ve been given but you aren’t quite sure what to do. You’ve been weighing the pros and cons and maybe your fears have begun to take advantage of you and have made you believe that this new “scary” thing just won’t work out.⠀
I’m here to tell you that you’ll never know until you try. You’ll never know what you can learn, how you can become better, and how MUCH you can persevere if you just don’t take the chance.⠀
Now if it doesn’t feel aligned with you, don’t do it. But if you have that itchy feeling, that feeling that you can’t stop thinking about this opportunity and gift you’ve been given, then maybe it’s the time that you take a chance. 🤩⠀
You don’t grow by staying comfortable. You grow and become better by getting into the uncomfortable, doing things that may be way different, and making mistakes along the way. You’ll become stronger and more resilient in the process and ultimately the best version of YOU. ⠀
If you’ve been waiting for a sign you should say HELL YES, then here it is. ⠀
Let's have fun. Don't think about the obstacles or reason why you can't. Focus only on the possiblities of what you would like to do in this moment. No matter what it is. Now, while I frown on the idea of "would have, should have, could have" this post is more about getting you to think about what you want and if you had the chance, with nothing to hold you back, what would you want to do. The goal is that if you can put your thoughts out into the universe, you can find a way to acheive what you want. At the heart of social anxiety is a fear of being negatively judged by other people.
If you have Social Anxiety Disorder, this fear is excessive, over-the-top, burdensome, and hard to ignore.
Even if you don’t have Social Anxiety Disorder, you may be overly self-conscious and pre-occupied with how others are perceiving you.
Here is one thing that can help with your focus on what other people think.
Get your own tendency to judge other people in check.
Yep, sometimes your own tendency to be judgy judgy can impact your perception of how much and how negatively other people are judging you.
This is a “be the change you want to see” message.
Practice giving other people the type of judge-free experience you seek.
Set your friends, family members, and strangers free to be themselves.
Your thoughts about what people wear, where they work, who they love/date/marry, and the life trials and tribulations they face as they navigate life may be harsh and unnecessary.
