My favourite thing to do when I travel is eating and trying the street food. I'd love to visit each country and meet up with a local foodie expert that will take me around and experience the 'local flavours' and get the story behind the delicacies of each place. One day I hope that will come to fruition.

Writing Christmas cards? For many years, it was the least fun of the things on my Christmas to-do list. Including a personal note for each recipient meant I took longer than anybody else to complete my cards. They were inevitably posted late so they arrived late, sometimes days, but often weeks, after Christmas.
But, ironically, I felt such joy when I saw Christmas cards in our letterbox. The feeling that family and friends had bothered to write and send me a card feel me feel special and loved. And I never threw away the old Christmas cards. Recently, I found a stash in a drawer and I re-read them with great pleasure.
For the last two years, I convinced myself texting Christmas greetings was saving trees and the planet. E-cards were quick, easy, timely but, quite honestly, curiously unsatisfying, like something was missing. Last year, I received many Christmas texts and only 1 Christmas card in the post, and I felt quite sad. I don’t remember any of the texts now. Soon after Christmas, I deleted the festive messages from my WhatsApp.
This year, I am resolved to start writing and sending physical Christmas cards once again. I want the people I care about to know they are special to me, and that the time it takes to personalise each and every card is time I consider very well spent.

I can't wait for November. Most people think about the upcoming holidays with family and good food and that's special to me as well. However, November sunsets are my favorite thing.
There is something quite magical and beautiful about this time of year; the sounds, the smells, the long, invigorating walks through fallen leaves and, of course, the colours.
There is nothing like an autumn sunset. Colorful and sharp. The beauty in this is breathtaking.

I attended the Nordic Table event at the ASI this evening, hosted by Scott Graden from New Scenic Cafe. I was reminiscing before the lecture about a visit to NSC on April 1, 2012 (which is oddly enough their business anniversary) when we were still living in Thunder Bay, and I can’t get over how small my kids were! Felix ate a whole glass of ice cubes (which the server refilled) and got chalk all over his face. I still remember the dining experience clearly, and gaze wistfully at the restaurant every year when I skate by during the @northshoreinline
