Summer solstice was a scorcher here in Chisana with a high of 72. We were under a red flag warning for dry conditions and chance of thunderstorms developing that could produce lighting strikes. In the afternoon dark clouds moved in from Canada and we could hear thunder off in the distance. Here in our valley tucked away in the mountains we don’t get many lighting strikes but on the flats at lower elevations we have seen conditions perfect for wildfire. Luckily this morning we did not awaken to tell tale smoke creeping over the mountains from the lowlands. Instead we have another bluebird day although the wind is already building. Yesterday I made an executive decision that when the windsock is blowing straight out vertically Adam can no longer work up on the roof. He is anxious to get the rafters done so he can insulate while the forecast calls for no rain in the foreseeable future. Even when the sun was blazing hot (for us in the mountains of Alaska) Adam always has a great attitude and takes time to give me a smile and a twirl of his hammer letting his happiness at working on his cabin masterpiece shine through!
Our last night on the road was a step back in time in a charming log cabin at Green Frog Farm in western Tennessee. We picked blackberries, danced to bluegrass, chases fireflies and learned all about turn of the century life in the south. It was a perfect way to end our adventure on the road. Next stop is home sweet home! xo CB #tennessee #logcabin #boomershineroadtrip #welcometothesouth #greenfrogfarm #almosthome

It’s National Take Your Dog to Work Day and you KNOW we can’t pass up a chance to celebrate our favorite coworker, Nellie!
Her professional bio reads: “Nellie was born in western Washington in December 2016. She has been a member of the Run of the River family for 1.5 years. Her experiences include but are not limited to: public relations, perimeter security, guest greeter, foot-sitter, and fluffy joy-bringer.” Nellie is not currently on the job hunt, but we know she has a few hundred folks willing to be her reference just in case.
Thank you for loving our sweet pup as much as we do! ❤️
"I do believe it's time for another adventure!"
