Raise your hand if you’re addicted to Tilda everything!!! 🙋🏽♀️ Cut out and pieces the blocks last night and finished up the top this morning before church
Take one woman, two afternoons, a very good book on MP3 (Rain Music by Di Morrissey) and a bazillion scraps and ta dah, this years first scrap quilt project has begun. A very simple, traditional log cabin with a red spot centre to tie it all together. For those interested in making their own here are a few simple details:
Cut red centre squares at 2" (finished size 1.5")
Cut all strips 1.25" wide (finished size 3/4" wide)
Block finished size is 6" square. I plan on making about 144 blocks and setting them 12x12 for a finished quilt of 72". Pictured here are the first 24 blocks.

Testing out my new #walkingfoot
on an orphan block I made a while ago. Money well spent. Can’t wait to practice more so I feel super confident about quilting my next throw-size project.
Log cabin stars!!!! Sew much fun!!
Y’all. So my friend gave me an unexpected Christmas gift, and I wanted to make her something that wouldn’t take me a bajillion years...so I graphed out a log cabin pattern to build around orphaned blocks. And it’s working!
block with a bright orange hearth center for a cold night in carolina (all hand-dyed linen scraps leftover from dressmaking)
I finished this quilt at the end of November. I think it is interesting that when you back away from it, the colors become so much less intense. The last photo is a comparison with a quilt that I finished earlier in the year. The materials, backs, and batting in both quilts are the same, but I quilted this one with lines that are much farther apart to see how much of a difference it would make. I love it both ways, but they are very, very different looks and textures. #quilt #quilting #logcabinquilt
Rearranged the log cabin blocks and added a slim border. Deciding on what or if to use a 4-5 inch outer border. But in general I’m happy with this in-between project. The extra background fabric arrives tomorrow for the half-done KF project, can’t wait to get started on it again, it’s a b’day present for a special person. #Quilt #quilting #quiltersofinstagram #logcabinquilt
So this is how it’s going partner I’m not the fondest of my path so far.... I may end up redoing it... or maybe finishing just to see my picture in my mind..... #ss_oak
well at least I have tons of time.... let me know your honest opinion if you hate it we start over.... #minilogcabin #logcabinquilt

Log cabin quilted pillow top. I had never done a log cabin block and thanks to @woodberry_way
and their gorgeous pillows I thought I would give it a try. No hand quilting on mine though-will tackle that later. Thanks for the inspiration and I will try to share the final pillow when done. I used gray fabrics since we have a lot of gray in our house. #quilting #sewing #logcabinquilt
My “splash” quilt using Kona Cotton’s color of the year. I saw a black and white version of this quilt on insta and knew that pattern was made for these colors. (I don’t know whose quilt it was but if it was yours, please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due!) #logcabinquilt #konacoloroftheyear2019 #splashquilt #ilovecolor
