So Kinkao Korean was a place I found when wandering about shoreditch, decided to try it out and got to say...pretty underwhelmed.
Went for the Galbi (bbq short ribs) with bbq sides of chilli and garlic slices and sangchu (lettuce)
The Galbi came really nicely presented in a grill pan with it sizzling and onions below sizzling too (check the video) but Cant help feel that the beef was quite carelessly cut. There was a lot of chunky fat still kicking about on the ribs, and made it quite hard to bite through pieces of it.
The ribs were cooked nicely and nicely marinated in a fruity soy sauce.
For the sangchu, it came as a shredded lettuce salad with a gochujang like sauce, unfortunately they didn’t do lettuce wraps for korean bbq (missing a trick there imo)
The kimchi jeon has some nice heat to it, but not a lot of texture, it had the same almost chewy texture throughout, didn’t get any pieces of crunchy kimchi through out it, but it still had the heat of it, not sure how this was made if I’m honest.
But yeah decent food but overall disappointing.

Sunday brunching with my best pals yesterday. I cannot stay away from this place apparently. I love eating somewhere that has such a chilled vibe. Aside from cleanliness ambience is the second most important thing to the food.

Though home to a myriad of Vietnamese restaurants, there’s only one that continuously catches my eye down Kingsland Road. Tay Do might not be the prettiest, the newest, or the friendliest; but what it lacks in appearance, the food makes up for in taste.
A clever move from them is the BYOB option which draws in the masses every Thursday - Saturday evening. Expect loud talking, laughter and a buzzing atmosphere. My personal favourite dishes that I have reviewed are:

What might you find in a local Icelandic supermarket? You may have spotted the famous #harðfiskur
lurking around... yes, that dried fish delicacy Icelanders love. We were told to consume them with cold butter alongside some healthy shots of Brennivín. Back in the cottage we rented out at Varmahlið, we gave them a go. The strips of fish tasted like salted cardboard and were impossible to tear apart with your teeth. It’s not for us, that’s for sure! 😂 #Radishnow

delicious rib eye and creamed horseradish roast with the biggest Yorkshire pudding I’ve ever had! The roast pots weren’t great but I’ve never had good roast potatoes that aren’t homemade?! I would definitely go back here and need to try the brunch!🥩
