Next up in your treat box will be a chocolate shortbread Christmas tree. I went through a lot testing with this one to get them right. I'm not skimping corners with these - they're made with golden caster sugar not plain white granulated, to add a tiny bit of caramel taste to the crumbly crunch!

People will tell you that honeycomb is easy to make, a few ingredients and done. I'm telling those people that this has take quite a few experiments and the use of a thermometer and lots of taste testing, to get the right balance in flavour, texture and consistency. Gluten-free Pasta with a creamy sauce made from garbanzo beans!
1 can of garbanzo beans
125 gr soya cream
2 tsp nutritional yeast
1 tsp Apple vinegar
2 tsp potato starch
Pinch of smoked salt and pepper
Pinch of Italian herbs mix
Pinch of ginger
Food processor for five min full speed.
Topped with tofu
200 gr tofu
On a tray and baker paper, drizzled with sunflower oil
Salt and pepper
180 c for 14 min.
Dairy free, eggs free, free of guilt.
I know that some of you have been eagerly awaiting the Christmas treat boxes and I felt I had to get the contents *just* right.
Alongside the snowy roads and rocky roads, we don't have a mince pie - but we have a "what's next level MissFlits mince pie"? I present to you a mincemeat palmier, made with homemade mincemeat, flavoured with a dash of @krakenrum
, topped with organic star anise and clove spiced icing sugar. Your box will have two of these. They are delicately flavoured and put together, so you won't feel like you're missing out on a traditional mince pie!
I've based these boxes on what *I* would like to eat between Christmas Eve and Boxing Day! The treats will come in a 12 holed cupcake box and each item will be placed in a compartment. I will be posting pics of each of the contents tonight. Some will need to be put in your own containers upon arrival in order that they last and you get the best out of the product. I don't believe in excess packaging, so these won't be coming in fancy cellophane packets. Each box is priced at £35, the same price as 12 cupcakes, but you are getting more value for your money. You will not be able to mix and match things out of each box I'm afraid, they will come as they are. Thanks!

Christmas can be a lonely time, particularly for the elderly, and some of the residents there won’t have any visitors over the festive period. I want them to know that someone has thought about them, and that they are part of a community that cares. This will hopefully be a little way of making a difference!

Husband had some of the hard scoop and honestly it was the best it’s ever been! When Yorica first opened I thought their hard ice cream was not great but it’s clearly gotten better and better!!

One of my favourite seasonal tarts/ cakes.
Really simple and fuss free to make.
I have used (recipe is approximate)
Little bit more than a cup of white spelt flour,
1/2 unrifined demerara sugar,
1/2 cup ground lightly toasted walnuts
oil few TS,
2 strong espresso shots,
1 1/2 ts baking powder,
1 flax egg
Mixed dry ingredients well, added wet ingredients and folded.
Pressed in pear slices.
Baked on 175C ( my oven is strong).
Are you ever struck in awe with how our lives are so minuscule in the schematics of history? How many generations have come before us and what’s left of them are mementos, blurry photographs and the same nostalgic story you hear over and over again at family gatherings. What if you touched something that spanned centuries? Would you then be trusted with its secrets? Would they writhe through you like a current? Would you suddenly be wiser?
The history in England was electric. Everywhere we went, we sensed greatness, craft and brilliant minds that came before us. The fact that the architecture of these ‘other’ worlds was still standing, amazes me every time I see a picture. They stand as a great reminder of who came before, and questions “what will you leave behind?”
Broadway Tower was the brainchild of the great 18th Century landscape designer, Capability Brown. His vision was carried out for George William 6th Earl of Coventry with the help of renowned architect James Wyatt and completed in 1798.
The location for the Tower was wisely chosen, a dramatic outlook on a pre-medieval trading route and beacon hill.
As we approached from the fields this sight was something I will never forget.

After the Christmas dinner at our ward Christmas party, I had my first ever Christmas pudding! It was a choice of vegan mince pies or this Christmas pud (non vegans could have chocolate cake too) and I’ve always hated mince pies so I tried this. I’d assumed that I wouldn’t like them because it’s full of dried fruits not chocolate 😅 but I really liked it!! I don’t think it had much alcohol unfortunately 😢 and I had asked for it with custard but they had ran out so I had it with Swedish glacé instead. It was so sweet so worked well for me, but my oh my was I full up and hating myself 😖 it doesn’t get easier

As a society, most people in the UK are unbelievably privileged. More privileged than at any other time in human history. Most of us can have as much food and drink as we want. Most of us have shelter and warmth. Most of us can travel anywhere in the world. Most of us can access any information that we need. And most have us, spend most of our life, in very good health. This is largely due to the economic system we have adopted.
However, this economic system, based around capitalism and the pursuit of profits, leads to a short term approach with little regard to the environment. This has led to a place where we are on the verge of completely trashing our planet beyond the point of return. And so we’ve got to change to save our planet.
But it’s more than this because what we also know is that all this advancement in our development has not made us any happier or any more satisfied with our lives. In fact, it’s made us less satisfied.
I believe this is because the pursuit of profits is a very limited objective. True satisfaction is only achieved when our objectives are much bigger than this. And a system where are objectives are much higher than this is a society that we want to help create. And in this new model of society, sustainability will naturally be something that is pursued because its aligned with our ideals. .
, we are doing everything we can to be as sustainable as possible. That’s why we are #vegan
. It’s why our ingredients are #organic
. It’s why we only use minimal packaging, and why when we do use packaging, it’s made from recycled materials. It’s why we give 20% of our profits to the London Buddhist centre. And it’s also why we deliver on bicycle where possible - the most #eco

Buckwheat with kalamata olives, lots of parsley, olive oil & lemon juice/
Roasted paprika and chilli chickpeas/
Thyme & garlic crispy mushrooms
Managed to get hold of most amazing kalamata olives and trying so hard not to eat them all at once.
The buckwheat was cooked for about 15 min, I have chopped a lot of fresh parsley, added few olives, some fresh lemon juice,
sea salt flakes and few drops of olive oil.
The result is so fresh, full of flavour and light .
Buckwheat is gluten free, versitale and so delicious and I should use it more often.
Growing up in Croatia, we would have Autumn/Winter buckwheat stews regularly -
might share the recipe on here next time I make it.
