Of all the beautiful sights @ruggedfootprints
and I planned to see during my September California trip, my main target from the very beginning was the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. This here was the *very first* photo I took of it from Marshall's Beach and the exact composition I had in mind from weeks before. We didn't have the most ideal conditions for a great photo that day but I would've been happy if I came away with just this. Instead we stuck around Marshall's Beach for another hour past sunset photographing our lives away, forgetting the very important fact that it gets dark after the sun has set 🙄 lol
It became pitch black darkness very quickly and we realized we had no idea how to get back (it's not that easy to get down to this beach - we hiked down through a steep, unmarked path). We walked back and forth looking for any signs that seemed recognizable from when we came down but in that kind of darkness nothing seemed familiar. It was then that we decided we had no choice but to climb our way up. After what was probably 30-40 min of scaling sharp rock, crumbling clay, cutting my hands and slipping many times in my sandals (yes I climbed this thing in my sandals cuz I'd rather risk my life than ruin my NMD's, duh)... we'd finally made it.
Through this whole challenge, Sakib and I remained calm, which was key in getting through this safely. In the end we came out with some great photos and a memorable experience we definitely won't forget lol
