Here's a bit of trivia:
For nearly four decades, the Warner Bros. studio produced 1,000 regular "Looney Tunes" and "Merrie Melodies" theatrical animated cartoons, starting with SINKIN' IN THE BATHTUB (released in April 1930, produced by Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising, and animated by future director Isadore "Friz" Freleng) and ending with INJUN TROUBLE (released in September 1969; produced by Bill Hendricks and directed by Robert McKimson, who was credited under the name "Bob McKimson" in the opening credits of the short). Very impressive amount of cartoons, don't you think?
Out of this amazing output of shorts, more than 643 of them have been released on DVD and Blu-ray; most of them are available, brilliantly remastered and restored, on releases like the "Looney Tunes Golden Collection" and the "Looney Tunes Platinum Collection".
(Here's a little quiz: out of the numerous iconic characters to stem from these series, can you guess which one had the longest career during this period and was phased out last?)
