While waiting for our ride, I had no clue what this night would have in store for us. Our driver dropped us off in front of a strip mall in Encino and we wondered if we were in the right place. 24 courses at @scratchbarkitchen
and several hours later, I have no words that could accurately describe the culinary adventure we experienced. 🍴
We rang the doorbell at an unmarked door and awaited access, then enjoyed our first three courses with paired cocktails in a speakeasy style bar. 🍸 After moving to the kitchen we enjoyed another 18 courses including smoked trout, spot prawn, cuttlefish noodles, leek, fave beans, foie gras, joshu wagyu and more. 🐟🦐🍷Afterward we returned to the bar for another 3 "upside down" desserts and aperitifs. Throughout the night we learned about the methods and witnessed our food being prepared, where it came from and it's history, and the best way to enjoy it.
