DO YOU WASTE YOUR MENTAL ENERGY? - - Yesterday I spoke about unfollowing social media accounts that bring you negative emotions. Today is something similar and that’s about wasting mental energy on things you can do nothing about - - Hey, I get it. I was like you too. I remember in school when I was very overweight, there was this one kid who only ate junk food basically. I used to see him devour candy bars at least 3 times a day. You know what? He was skinny as hell and I was like, ‘that’s so unfair’ - - Here’s the thing, which I didn’t logically think about back then. Whilst his genetics maybe played a part, he was an excellent cross country runner who ran every day. So now, thinking about it from a calories in vs calories out point of view, of course he never put on weight. On the flip side, there was me who spent 4 hours on the computer every evening after school, devouring packs of biscuits, crisps and then 3 helpings of dinner. There’s always a reason 🍪 - - We all know people like this in our lives, but you can’t change that and getting annoyed or jealous of them, isn’t going to help with your weight loss! Focus on yourself, your daily habits and your goals and don’t waste mental energy on things you can’t control. 💥WHAT I EAT TO LOSE FAT💥 This post; totally stole the idea from . This is a general representation of what I might eat on a given weekday when I work out. I am a creature of habit, however, and this isn’t too far off what I will eat several days during the week. - I eat less in the beginning of the day as my wife and I will *usually* plan our meal around something our 2 young boys (ages 3 and 4) will eat. It’s easier to not have to cook 2 totally separate meals. I eat whatever we’re having and pay attention to when I’m *satisfied not stuffed* and that serves me well. - We do feed our children mostly healthy food, but guess what? This is life, and we all have circumstance. • The deciding factor on your success is if you let your circumstances become your excuse. • When you make excuses, you are taking all accountability off yourself. • When you finally decide to hold yourself accountable you won't let your circumstances be the deciding factor of your success or failure. Imagine you’re doing everything right. Working out, eating properly. You’re in a caloric deficit. But the scale isn’t changing. Frustrating, right? Don’t panic. This is quite normal 😊

As your fat cells are emptied of fat in order to provide energy to your body (in a caloric deficit) they will often fill back up with water. This is most often caused by elevated cortisol levels which are released by your body. Cortisol is elevated in your body due to stress. To minimize this, don’t be on a super restrictive diet. Eat a larger meal once in awhile. Show your body that everything is ok. The reduced cortisol will often flush out water and the weight loss will show on the scale. The fat cell will be emptied and be a fraction of the size it used to be. Maintaining your slight caloric deficit will work. Don’t worry about the number on the scale. It’s only a matter of time before it goes down 😊 Keep in mind that I’ve simplified the physiological processes significantly to explain this phenomenon. SPLIT SCHEDULES by @kruckifitness - When it comes to training splits, you want to find the one that is most optimal for you based of your schedule and lifestyle. Here are what I'd say to be the best split schedules for trianing 3,4,5 and 6 days a week. - Regardless of the split you choose, you CAN build muscle as long as you're consistent. The best program is the one you can stick to. - For whatever split you do, make sure you have days dedicated to strength (1-5 rep range) and hypertrophy days (6-15 rep range). Mixing strength and hypertrophy training is a great way to maximize muscle gains. - In my opinion, I'd recommend the 3-day split to beginners (0-2 years training), the 4 or 5 day split to intermediates (2-4 years training), and the 5 or 6 day split for advanced (4+ years training). - WHICH SPLIT DO YOU DO? Shit a brick! @rachsheebs it’s only until I put it next to my before pic that I realise I have lost loads! I cannot believe I got so big and disgusting. I’m so ashamed of myself. Had never been that big previously to my 4th pregnancy in 2014/15 .😫🙈 I still have a long way to go to get to that size 8. But my determination discipline and knowledge on nutrition will get me there. So as you probably noticed I’ve been quiet on social media recently. I had a burn out from the fitness industry. Being a fitness professional can be very overwhelming with the early mornings, late nights, being back to back with clients and making sure they motivated and progress their best ( it’s really difficult when you can’t even motivate yourself from the exhaustion and aches and pains) staying on track with food and training when you have no time neither energy just because the pressure is there that you have to lead from the front ,plus on top of it balancing family life (with a demanding one years old). I’ve got tired of it. After long years living my every day around the topic of fitness made me feel like if I see anymore training video or fitness post I will throw up. So as every problem needs a solution my solution to this to restructure my priorities, leave enough personal space for myself, have a break from training and dieting and not planning any competitions to the close future.
