I know I keep posting, but I have a ton of pictures and am loving my time here. Here are a few things I've learned since the start of the trip: -do your research if there is something you want to see. Example: Jeremiah wanted to see Normandy and the D-Day beaches. It took effort, but I found a guide that was willing to work with us, give us directions, and was super knowledgeable of the area. -do not expect super personalized tours to be cheap but they absolutely are worth it.
-skip the line passes are 100% worth it @klook
-traveling with your partner will tell you a lot. I'm definitely the more difficult person to travel with. -years of French does no good if it's not practiced. -invest in good walking shoes. It really doesn't matter much how they look, no one cares or notices. In fact, the only person that will care and notice is you, when your feet are either thanking or screaming at you. -travel isn't cheap but it can be done comfortably on a budget.
-travel by plane and travel by train almost take the same amount of time due to security. However, booking your flights in advance could save money depending on your trip. Always consider the amount of travel time versus monetary cost!
-making memories is difficult when alcohol is involved. It also adds a good bit of expense and detracts from time better spent--not sitting in bars or nursing hangovers
-uber is your friend, but so is public transit. Know when to use which, whether it is due to safety, shin splints, or time constraints.
