I got to throw my sister a gender reveal party on Saturday & it was such a special day for me.💜 A couple of months ago, Micaela & Travis asked me to be the godmother/nanny to their firstborn. I burst into tears and said yes! #duh
But the reason why I was so emotional was because despite my career as a nanny/caretaker; I wasn't a nanny/godmother to anyone yet.
I see so many people who are far to young to even be on their own or just not mature enough to take care of a child, yet they're given this huge responsibility of being a godmother. To be a godmother is to take custody of that child if anything should happen to the parents. And to be there for the parents when they need you. #especiallyafterbirth
It's not a cute title that goes on matching shirts with your godchild. Yes, those shirts are pretty adorable but not when I see them on a 14 year old girl & a newborn baby😅 and I understand that the law will not actually let the baby go to someone who is unfit but I personally feel like the title Godmother or Nanny is something that is given away to easily without careful consideration.
It is such a precious and deserving title & your child deserves the absolute best when it comes to potential legal guardians. 💜 That's all I have to say about that for now.
Butttt anywhoooo, I'm excited to say that Baby Blanchard is a BOY!! He'll be making his arrival in early March & I couldn't be any more excited!!!! He is already so loved & will be so handsome😍
